Lower Lagarina valley 20191020
Lagarina Valley is a valley in northern Italy, used to define the lower mountain course of the Adige River. It is mostly included in the province of Trentino, with the lower section being part of the province of Verona. The largest town is Rovereto.
As with the Val d'Adige, the Vallagarina is of glacial origin. Orographically, it separates the Brescian and Gardesane Prealps to the west from the Venetian Prealps to the east.

I finally saw the Bald Eagle down low to the water & when I turned to get her, the camera was still set at a lower speed 1/640
for shooting the previous bay still photos..
She is on the pond side of the bridge, took a shot at something in the water & MISSED..
When you drop into a slot canyon like Lower Antelope, You enter an area of sensory chaos.The problem as a photographer is to make sense of it all.
Over millions of years these slot canyons have been formed by the actions of water and wind on the local sandstone. Now a days you must have a Navaho guide which was not always so. After a flash flood took the lives of 10 tourists in August of 1995, a Navaho guide that was familiar with the local canyons became mandatory with entry.
This photo was shot hand held with an ISO of 500. I wanted to take as many shots as I could in the limited space in the canyon and limited time allowed.
The point of light became the focal point and the color reflections off the wall added to the sensual textures of the worn walls. It became a balance of light and color as the sun passed over head and light reflected off the canyon walls.
The clouds kept building and I was worried that i might not get any colour from the sunrise, but it slipped underneath the clouds.
With this river being at record lows I was able to wade back and forth across the river all the way next to the falls. Which all in its self was pretty cool. I decided on this shot. I have one from right next to the falls that I will post later, which won't even look like it came from this waterfall. If you look and the left side of the waterfall you can see a hint of a rainbow.
Why? Why did you go to the lower canyon when you could have gone to the much more popular upper canyon you ask?...Well the answer is simple: the lower canyon is almost ignored by the hoardes of sightseers and for $26.00 we purchased a photographers pass which allowed us to explore the canyon without a guide for the whole afternoon...I highly recommend this but you must bring a tripod to get the pass...without a tripod you don't qualify as a serious photographer...

This scene greets the shivering hiker, and immediately one forgets the cold water torture to get here
Yesterday we set out for Upper Cathedral Lake, but since I get lost easily we ended up at Lower Cathedral Lake…I think. The lake was frozen, the air was cold, the wind was brutal, the elevation was rough, the sunset was amazing (but it was behind me), the hike back was dark. All that said, it’s hard to complain about a place this gorgeous.

This is a reprocessed image - used drizzle x 3 to enlarge and some recently learnt noise-reduction techniques.
A wealth of galaxies in this view centred on elliptical galaxy M86
from L to R, Arp 120, M86 and M84 form the lower right hand section of Markarian's chain, a visual string of galaxies - my field of view was too small (49 arcmins) to include them all.
Going around the clock:
At 1200 is spiral galaxy NGC 4402
At 0330 is elliptical galaxy M84
At 0400 is elliptical galaxy NGC 4387
At 0530 is spiral galaxy NGC 4388
At 0630 is barred spiral galaxy NGC 4413
At 0800 is spiral galaxy NGC 4425
At 1130 near the very top is a small irregular galaxy IC 3355
At 1100 are "the Eyes" a pair of interacting galaxies (NGC 4435 and NGC 4438)(Arp 120). Gravitational interaction has distorted one of the pair.
38 x 5 minute exposures. Dithered and drizzled.
