One World Trade Center, on the right, is the main building of the rebuilt World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan, New York City. Tallest building in the U.S. at 104 Stories (1776 feet / 541 meters high), it was about a year from completion as shown here in 2013.
Panorama of the beautiful skyline of Lower Manhattan (also known as Downtown Manhattan or Downtown New York City). It includes the new "One World Trade Center", the tallest skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere, as well as the historic Brooklyn Bridge.
The last daylight of the blue hour beautifully frames the city.
Just four numbers lower at PC 18474 and I would have found the caboose, or "cabin car" that I practically grew up in. PC Model N-11 18478 is on display in downtown Union City, Indiana along CSX's ex-Big 4 (CCC&StL)/NYC/PC/CR Indianapolis Line Sub. This cabin car was never red while in service though, and wore PC green when built by PC in their ex-NYC Despatch Shops, then later Conrail blue.

We did a hike To Bertha Lake while we were in Waterton Lakes National Park. The scenery was beautiful but the hike was really intense. 16km of steep incline and switchbacks. By the time we reached the lake at the top, my legs felt like rubber, but looking at the beautiful surroundings made it all worth the effort.
I was wondering what I had photographed exactly 10 years ago. I found this picture in the archive, taken during my work on the series “Scenes from Lower Bavaria” in 2014. Surprisingly enough, there was a lot of snow there at the time. Now we're hoping for at least some snow here in the Berlin region too. -
The drop shown is about 18 feet (5.5 m) which is slightly less than the larger drop of upper cataract falls (20' or 6 m).

When one reads about the world's first national Park, Yellowstone, they get a lot of information about the geysers and hot pools. I think another part of the park is special and doesn't receive enough attention. That is the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River. It is fantastic for scenery and has two waterfalls. The one pictured, Lower Falls, is 308 feet in height and a great amount of water passes over it. The canyon is 800 to 1,200 feet deep and 1,500 to 4,000 feet wide.
For perspective in this picture, enlarge and look for the people standing on the observation area to the right of the falls.
Once we passed the fiery rock monster it was clear sailing. That evening, as the moon rose in the sky we reached Lower Ruby Falls. It was a remote, beautifully stark, and lonely place. But this is not what we came for. The magical Upper Ruby Falls was our destination. We camped at the lower falls for the night and planned to reach the upper falls the next day.

The best part about actual lower lashes is when you're fixing your doll up from the side, and you can see the eyelashes actually jumping out.
I always wanted it on my dolls.. that's what made me start in the first place.
... Claude is quite realistic, and his eyes are small, so the eyelashes were quite a challenge.
I lost a few just exhaling. :/
They were TINY!
The walk up to Tews (take a look at my previous image) has another smaller waterfall called Lower Tews Falls. Much smaller, but just as nice with the leaves giving you major color surrounding it this time of year.

Half term over and the grandchildren retuned home after a week in my care and it's normal service resumed apart from work commitments that is.
A trip to Cenarth the other week saw a very full River Teifi with levels a good metre above normal. This structure in the foreground is a fishing platform for anglers.

As you may have read in previous posts, back in March I took the plunge and made my first visit to Lower Antelope Canyon. It was beautiful. But it was major sensory overload for someone like me who shoots mainly landscapes
My father took this photo in August 1967 on a trip into Humphreys Basin. The slide is labeled Lower Honeymoon Lake. I'm looking for viewers who can verify the location. Thanks in advance.
Another classic shot of Lower Manhattan during Dusk. Nothing special about this shot except the fact that I was testing the new A7R III with brand new Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS lens. I am way too impressed with how much I can recover from the shadows. This shot especially is underexposed by at least 3 stops with fading light but I could recover all those details without a hint of noise. Good job Sony! I am impressed.
