The eastern hydrangea border in the lower terrace has a collection of more than thirty varieties of hydrangea along with other perennials. The trees in the lawn are flowering cherry trees that carpet the lawns with pink blossoms in the spring. There also is a collection of lilacs below the fence of the lower terrace.

A couple weeks ago, I took my brother to see Chedoke Falls via the gorge. That meant that we had to pass Lower Chedoke Falls along the way. With intense sunlight on the trees lining the gorge, the light was a challenge. I ended up combining two exposures, two full stops apart.

Sky was completely grey on that day without any texture whatsoever. I had already given up on all shots I had taken and started playing around with sky replacements. Ended up really liking this one.

Bald Eagle at Conowingo Dam. Just a little North of the Chesapeake Bay, on the lower Susquehanna River in Conowingo, Maryland, is the Conowingo Dam. In 1928, when the dam was complete, it was the second largest producer of electricity in the United States after Niagra Falls. The location is popular with photographers especially in late fall into Winter and especially when the dam is letting water through the turbines. The Eagles come to feed on fish below the spillways and create a lot of opportunity for photo enthusiasts. One of the most amazing places that I have even been to. It is truly a photographer-dream- come-true place. The local tour guide told us that millions of millions of pictures were over internet, but I can't help to add 1 more, or may be 2, or 3. :D

Taken from the top of the Empire State Building. The new World Trade building is going up and it is a beacon of light. At first, there was a long line to catch the elevator up to the observation deck, but then they opened up for us to walk six flights of stairs to get there in time for sunset. Needless to say, we jumped at the opportunity to catch sunset. With light like is, who could go wrong?

The only inconvenient thing was not being able to bring a tripod. The good thing was that you could use the concrete blocks to keep the camera still. Realistically, you had limited compositional options.

Oneonta gorge is among my favorite hikes at the Columbia River Gorge. I'm look forward to returning in the spring to shoot it at its full glory.
