This is an unusual fence construction I saw at one of our campsites. The Virginia Creeper has found a crack to squeeze through so it could be in front of the fence. You don’t notice the crack it is coming through but if you check the chain link section, you will see it seems to tuck away into the metal slats, too. Someone really wanted to keep something out. This plant was determined to breakthrough. Where there is a will, there is a way. Happy Fence Friday.

A mirror, also known as a looking glass, is an object that reflects an image. Light that bounces off a mirror will show an image of whatever is in front of it, when focused through the lens of the eye or a camera. Mirrors reverse the direction of the image in an equal yet opposite angle from which the light shines upon it. This allows the viewer to see themselves or objects behind them, or even objects that are at an angle from them but out of their field of view, such as around a corner. Natural mirrors have existed since prehistoric times, such as the surface of water, but people have been manufacturing mirrors out of a variety of materials for thousands of years, like stone, metals, and glass. This one I am posting for the theme “ bugs & co”. I was trying to follow the toad’s example and just chill on my back deck , when this oil beetle flew onto the deck post across from me. I had seen these insects a few times over the years. So I knew not to touch him. Another name for this guy is a Blister Beetle. That is due to the caustic chemical he secretes that can blister your skin on contact. He is a beautiful shade of blue but that’s where my admiration for him stops. This guy was about an inch long. We quickly and carefully got rid of him from the deck.
