Another photo looking out the window to the back yard woodland corner. Posted others just a few back on the photostream. The maple leaves are Acer palmatum 'Purple Ghost'. The green feathery leaves are Corydalis.

My setup for shooting the early morning light on Boulder's "Flatirons" (the mountains west of us) from our room at the Millennium Hotel in Boulder.
Bear Peak to the left, then Green Mountain (with the giant rock slabs, "The Flatirons" in front). The buildings in front of the mountains are part of the University of Colorado.
We lucked out because the window slider locks were broken, and I could push our window open all the way! (Just one of many things that were broken in our room, but we didn't want to rock the boat with such a great window situation for photography.)

Taken from the upper deck of a Yorkshire Coastliner double-decker, the bus was racing down a sloping dale between Malton and York. The bus was travelling extremely fast and I was a bit concerned.
In keeping with my nifty fifty black and white project, this photo is an out of camera jpeg shot while hiking around a local lake.
Photo taken with a Canon 7D and EF 50mm f/1.4 lens hand held. Uploaded to Flickr using ACDSee Pro 6. No post process changes applied other than to resize for Flickr on upload.

This was taken at the Systerne House. Often called sisters house, along the Cleddau (pronounced Clethai) River, in Minwear woods. These are old old woodlands and we walked along The Knights Way and the Landsker Borderland trail. I dont know what this biuilding used to be but the way the stones were placed above made it perfect for that shot. And Angus posed awesomely. The buildings are, I think, 12th century
had a look around the Mary Rose Museum today even though the covers are still on the ship it was incredible to see all the artefacts and listen to people who are passionate about their heritage and preservation. Not allowed to show any pics taken inside until 30th May when it opens to the public.
Burlington, Vermont USA • The east facing clock dial of the First Unitarian Universalist Society Church, on Pearl Street; seen through the central diamond of an antique leaded-glass window.
☞ Part of a series of photos documenting my new home & neighborhood, in the heart of Vermont's largest town: Burlington 05401. • After almost a dozen years in rural Cornwall, 40 miles to the south, I have moved to one of the true outposts of optimism, on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain (the 6th Great Lake).

It's been raining for two days. It's supposed to move out tonight and be clear tomorrow.
The arrival of the dreariness, of course, coincides with the week we tackle light as the main theme in You Are Your Own Muse. Working with light, I do best when conditions are ideal for flare and/or golden tones. So, this necessitates me stepping out of my comfort zone.
I tried that the past two days. This is the best of the experiments: me, silhouetted against the front door and watching the rain pour, wishing it would break up and let a few rays of sunlight through.
I shot this while riding a down escalator from the main floor of out local Glen Park BART - Bay Area Rapid Transit - station. I had notice this photo opportunity on my way to an appointment in the south of Market area - SOMA - of downtown San Francisco. I waited until my return trip to make the photo using my Canon Powershot SX50. Since this view only presented itself while riding the down escalator, I went up from the train platform to the building entrance floor so I could take the escalator down again. The rows of small spikes were installed on the ledges to deter pigeons from perching there. I took two shot on my way down. This was the one that had the BART sign in the place I wanted it. Sometimes you have to work for a shot. Riding an escalator is not that difficult a task to capture a photo.

A back view close-up shot of an unrecognizable young Caucasian redhead woman sitting on a windowsill looking down at the street with an old French building in the background
From earlier this past year while in Gladwin, Mi. My wife and I asked to go inside a house where we were visiting the owner (she was a childhood friend of our grandmother). I had my camera on my hip so naturally things ended up having their pictures taken.
Oliver watching birds out the living room window. He's an indoor cat only, but does enjoy watching the pigeons and starlings from his window.
