Interior and exterior, looking out of a dark room

A seat and a couple, looking out to the Rocky devon coastline near Coleton Fishacre gardens on the South west coastal path and overlooking Pudcombe cove.

i wished i had gotten a photo of venus and the moon. but i did not, so i post this...it's not as cool...nope, not even close. but i did get to see them together...sweet it was, venus and the moon.

Finished your book. Finished your noodles. Done playing chess. Then it's time to just stare out the window and relax.

Route

Photos from a one-month journey on the Trans-Siberian (well ok, actually the Trans-Mongolian) railway starting in Beijing (see set), via Ulaanbaatar, a 12 day trip through Mongolia (see set), a 6 day stopover in Irkutsk and at Lake Baikal (see set), and then finally arriving in Moscow (see set).

'Sunlight, Shadows and Outdoor Street Scene' On Black

Looking toward the wall and out the window at the Meetinghouse Restaurant.

I'm noticing that several of today's posts are influenced by painting. In this case, I'm reminded of the work of Edward Hopper, whose work I've admired since childhood.

Or perhaps a hyperrealist painter...

I attempt at a lingerie shoot

On our way to Boston to visit family on the Fung Wah bus. Leaving at 7pm on a Friday night meant lots of traffic but also fantastic light during the early part of the trip.

I'm finally learning how to maneuver my 30mm lens better for SP's and also shooting myself with D300s vertically without losing control of it. I wish I could find some kind of strap that lets me velcro the camera around my wrist - I'm always so afraid of dropping it when I hold it that way.

Copper giving his 'I'm so cool look'

Many of the homes in Havana had iron gates. I suppose this would help circulate the air while keeping intruders out.

I learned today that if you go out on a Sunday morning, the T trains and stations are pretty much empty! So you might as well pull out your camera and shoot out the window!

This is a photo of Teddy the dog, not an easy subject to photograph as he hates to stand still.

This photo is an out of camera jpeg (no adjustments in post) taken while out on a hike with a Canon 7D and EF 50mm f/1.8 lens. Uploaded to Flickr with ACDSee Pro 6.

I ran up to the room to grab something before we left the hotel for the evening and caught this sunset from the enormous window in the hallway of our floor.

*Appropriately, the Lighthouse Condominium glows with blue light from the top floor.

expect the unexpected, or don't expect anything at all.. life is much more interesting if you haven't planned every step of the way.

6.30.09.

Today school was actually pretty cool. We had a longer break than usual because it was our italian teacher's birthday and she was in a good mood.

Algebra was surprisingly ok too, because for once we were doing something I already did in 8th grade and I know it like the back of my hand.

I had to go to the doctor's today to get shots for high school. I got 4 shots.

i hate getting shots :P

Since today is the last day of the month the next couple of pictures are things that I thought I should upload with my remaining MBs :)

by the way, this is my new friend Nancy, staring out the window during break.
