It is now a museum and well worth a visit if you are in San Antonio.
North Winooski Avenue, Burlington, Vermont USA • My bedroom window, with an antique leaded-glass window, newly hung in the top half.
☞ Part of a series of photos documenting my new home & neighborhood, in the heart of Vermont's largest town: Burlington 05401. • After almost a dozen years in rural Cornwall, 40 miles to the south, I have moved to one of the true outposts of optimism, on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain (the 6th Great Lake).
Boston, Massachusetts: This view of the Back Bay was taken from my desk at work. The first of several shots that will show my daily view.
Best viewed large.

had a look around the Mary Rose Museum today even though the covers are still on the ship it was incredible to see all the artefacts and listen to people who are passionate about their heritage and preservation. Not allowed to show any pics taken inside until 30th May when it opens to the public.
I took the 09:38 Inter-City train from Amsterdam Centraal to Utrecht Centraal. This train's destination is 's-Hertogenbosch, which I visited on another day.
A mobile phone lying next to the cord of an old-fashioned land line phone, with the woods and a blue sky visible through the window.
Burlington, Vermont USA • Seen from my apartment, looking to the west, past the First Unitarian Universalist Society Church.
Erected in 1816 when Burlington was a small town, the Unitarian Church is located on a lot purchased in 1814. The land originally extended to North Street and included Elmwood Cemetery. All houses in the area bounded by Elmwood Avenue, Grant Street and Clarke Street are built upon land still leased to their owners by the church. …
The Boston architect Peter Banner, who also drew plans for the Boston Park Street Church. The building, solidly constructed with large hand-hewed timbers from the Brown's River area of Jericho, held together with wooden pins, has been remodeled several times, inside and out. In 1845 it was "Greek Revivalized" with addition of the massive cornice, bricked-in shortened windows, and brick pilasters at the corners. In 1832 blinds in the spire were removed and glazed windows with fanlights installed. …
The present church bell and clock date from 1928. The "town clock" is a Howard, made by the same company that manufactured the large clocks at Ira Allen Chapel at UVM and the one at City Hall. It replaced one donated by Hervey Burnett in 1873. Before his gift, clock faces covered only three sides of thew tower, but Burnett insisted there be four so that the people in the ten rapidly expanding North End could know the time of day also.
☞ For some dates & historical details, I am indebted to the Chittenden County Historical Society, and their fine, three volume set: Historic Guide to Burlington Neighborhoods: Vol. I, 1991; Vol. II, 1997; Vol. III, 2003. David J. Blow, author; Lillian Baker Carlisle, Editor; Sarah L. Dopp, photographs.
In keeping with my nifty fifty black and white project, this photo is an out of camera jpeg shot while hiking around a local lake. We are finally seeing some milder weather with temperatures rising almost to freezing and the wind settling down. This shot shows what weeks of deep cold and continuous wind will do. The snow on this lake could easily be mistaken for sand dunes in the patterns it has formed.
Photo taken with a Canon 7D and EF 50mm f/1.4 lens hand held. Uploaded to Flickr using ACDSee Pro 6. No post process changes applied other than to resize for Flickr on upload.

Finished your book. Finished your noodles. Done playing chess. Then it's time to just stare out the window and relax.
