Figured I'd upload another selfie...this was shot in front of the monitor with a window shape on the screen. There is a very cool set of shapes that you can download for free, I'll try to find the link if anyone shows interest.
Sometimes flying gives beautiful views, and sometimes nothing but a dull carpet of even clouds. This was an exciting trip!
Madrid - Amsterdam
It was our 8-year wedding anniversary yesterday, so we returned to the scene of the crime, Lanyon Homestead.
I looked through our wedding album for the first time in years - there is so much I would change about the clothes I wore and the way I had my hair, but nothing I would change about who I married, when I did (I was 19, him 20), or where, or who wed us (my Dad).
It was a very special day, and though the 8 years since have been up & down, they have been good years, and here's to many more to come!!!

Al Mudhif - A Confluence is a collaboration of Sarah Kavage and Philadelphia-based artist Yaroub Al-Obaidi and his brother Mohaned to build a mudhif at the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education (SCEE), possibly the first such structure to be built in North America! A mudhif is a traditional Iraqi ceremonial structure, made of bundled and woven marsh-growing reeds, that serves as a hospitality and celebration space. This mudhif will be made from invasive Phragmites reeds that were locally harvested nearby.
Grand opening Thursday, June 24, 2021, 7-9 pm. RSVP:

The Commanding Officer's Quarters (the Coast Guard Admiral's Quarters from 1966 to 1996) was designed in the Greek Revival style by architect Martin E. Thompson in 1843. The Quarters is over 12,000 square feet and the interior has been designated as historic.
The northern half of Governor's Island is a National Register historic district #85002435. It's also a National Historic Landmark. The National Park Service runs Castle Williams and Fort Jay as a National Monument. The rest of Governor's Island is administered by the Governors Island Preservation and Education Corporation. The island is required by law to have no housing (which is a shame - I think the Presidio model works very well).
The island is open to visitors only on the weekends from spring through fall. If you're ever in New York City, I would highly recommend taking the free ferry over to the island and explore. You can even rent a bike on the island.
Burlington, Vermont USA • Sunset on the First Unitarian Universalist Society Church, at the north terminus of the Church Street Marketplace. ∞ Seen through a 1915 Craftsman window, hanging next to my deck.
☞ Part of a series of photos documenting my new home & neighborhood, in the heart of Vermont's largest town: Burlington 05401. • After almost a dozen years in rural Cornwall, 40 miles to the south, I have moved to one of the true outposts of optimism, on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain (the 6th Great Lake).
Cornwall, Vermont USA: Here's the first wet snow of the season, seen from inside the Emerald Gypsy.
The Emerald Gypsy (eGypsy) is a 1949 Ford F-5 Wayne shortbody schoolbus, motorhome conversion. It first served as a rural elementary schoolbus in Hemet, California. In the early 1960's it had its first conversion to a motorhome.
I bought it on eBay in May, 2007. It was my home • office • studio until August 2009. It is currently parked in Cornwall, Vermont USA.

Looking Out...
I finally learned the importance of always having your camera with you. I was on my way out to run an errand when I noticed this huge buck along the side of our pond. I didn't have my camera with me! I cafefully yet quickly turned my car around and went inside to grab my camera. I was thrilled when I drove back by that it was still just laying there! I took a few shots looking out my car window and left for my errands.
At first I thought that I was "Looking Out" at him, but after looking at my shots, I think he was "Looking Out" at me!
