I like that my friends are willing... but unwitting subjects.
Check out that glow!!!
Best one of the roll in my humble opinion.
It's nearly the end of the holiday season. Though this year, it doesn't really feel like we are moving onto a new year though. It's so hard to get the inertia to get back into the work groove. And my first day back yesterday wasn't exactly a cruise either.
I was saying I actually wish I drank copiously so I had a reason for my hangover-like stupor.
Hope you guys are doing better. And for those of you who don't have to get back to work till next year... don't like you...

The land mass you see across the water (Loch Nevis) is the Knoydart peninsula, often called "Britain's last great wilderness"
The small settlement of Inverie on the shores of Loch Nevis (see note) must be Britain's remotest village. Although it is on the mainland, there is no road access. The only access is either by boat from Mallaig or an 18 mile trek from the end of the road at Kinloch Hourn! On my list of walks to do!! :-))
This was taken from the top of Sgurr an Eilein Ghubhais. A steep climp with no defined path, but worth the effort for the views I would say! :-)
If you view it in Lightbox, you may just make out a faint strip of land in the far distance on the left hand side - the southern tip of the Isle of Skye!
And if you are wondering, this is a stitch of 4 photos taken in portrait orientation. :-)
today we went to oakridge so maria could see an american ophthalmologist who came here on mission work. we are thankful for his willingness to come to help.
it was a beautiful outing for us all!
I don't have access to my external drive, so I've had to dig in my phone for an image. It's been a busy week. Hope to catch up with you all later.
Image taken and processed on iPhone.
Even though I know you'll never come.
view here, please! Because I hate flickr sharpening sometimes :/
That's my dog, Sophie. She's really adorable<3
It was a rainy day today even though you can't tell. I wanted to go out in it and take pictures but I still have a cold and going out in the cold rain wouldn't of helped.
I know my profile isn't so appealing, but that's me and it's about time I embrace it. And that's my iPod in my pocket.
I can't believe it's been 2 weeks already.
Dunnock / prunella modularis. Private site, Derbyshire. 28/08/15.
One of the Dunnocks that favour an empty building on my site. They know it is a place of rich pickings in the form of invertebrates AND offers shelter during inclement weather!....clever , opportunistic birds.

John Henri Newman in his poem Transfiguration says:
I saw once more, and awe-struck gazed
On face, and form and air;
God’s living glory round thee blazed-
A saint -a Saint was there!

A daily record of a woodland that I've been familiar with for 34 years. It is good to record these places in a very personal way come rain or shine. I like to see the place without making anything picturesque, rather setting down what's before me at different times of day and not overworking each piece, keeping it spontaneous and fresh. Inspired by Charles Burchfield and Emily Carr among others. In some ways a pendant to my Simon's wood series and to be part of my Looking Out exhibition.

I really didn’t feel like taking a selfie today.
I really didn’t.
But I did, all the same.
All I just wanted to do was lie down and stare at the ceiling.
Do you ever get that feeling?
The feeling where you just want to be anywhere but here, but you don’t exactly want to leave this place either. The feeling where you are just willing to let your mind dance out of the window and into the distance where it spies on everyone out there.
There’s the neighbour walking her dog. There’re the children chasing about. There’s the maid and the foreign worker, meeting in secret whilst she takes the children out.
As the activities of the late afternoon die down and everyone goes home, so the sun will set on my wandering mind. But still, here I will lie and let the daydreaming switch to its nocturnal cousin as the sky slowly darkens.

Peter Gabriel’s version of Flume on repeat was what probably caused this mood.
I thought I'd try something really fun today......
No, this was not taken from my bedroom window....... I found this great free window frame png file online and decided to have a play with it, so framed these gorgeous bright red berries (hawthorn, thanks to Worthing Wanderer for the ID) that I photographed while out for a walk last Saturday afternoon :)
Have a great Saturday everyone, hope you all have a chance to get out snapping :)
thank you for viewing :)
has anyone else seen that musical?? we had it on vhs when i was little, the version with bernadette peters. eh. pick. right, i'm totally in the library on campus right now being productive, editing photos and reading other people's short stories. this is the life! my friday nights are so rockin' now, no one can keep up with me!
today's mass amounts of wind threw me off balance today (pun not intended, though often i do intend my puns, and have not infrequently been almost blown over by gusts of wind); i was almost run down by several people biking on the trails. the wind made it impossible to hear them coming, but i'm pretty sure no one saw anything funny. and by funny i mean me.
though the first set of bikers definitely saw me placing cement blocks back into the stream bed. oh yeah, getting more creative for tripod options these days!
do the L dance! L L L L!

Every town has a Kafka-esque neighborhood. DeLand's is centered on Georgia Street. Narrative is something we impose upon the world; the whole is greater than the parts.
Colorful spring view of one of Alaska's most popular scenic adventures. This spectacular retreating glacier is located 10 miles northwest of Juneau in southeast Alaska. Its massive ice-blue sheer vertical cliffs are an awesome sight - when you realize the eroding face is formed of ice many centuries old and the entire glacier covers more than 25 square miles and is one of the few glaciers in the world accessible by car.
