The light was so incredible, but I was so tired that I didn't bother to get up from my bed. The camera was handy.
Doesn't just come from the window. It comes from my heart and my soul, which is getting stronger, thanks to some special people in my life, some of you included (you know who you are!).
I just loved the light coming in my window. Of course, I had to move the cat out of the way because he was laying in that exact spot, all warm and squished out (sorry Mickey!). He wasn't happy about it, but he moved to another sunspot and forgot all about it.
I really don't smile much in my pictures, do I? Sorry...it's unintentional, I just think I look silly with a forced and/or fake smile. So, this is what you get. You'll forgive me, won't you?
I went out for a hike today in an area I used to love but haven't hiked for years. I was surprised at how much it has stayed the same and also at how much it has changed. One of my old trails has been widened to become a gravel road so I hiked in to the edge of a cliff where I found a wonderful view south along the Yukon River Valley - I could see all of downtown Whitehorse nestled among the hills. On the side of one hill I spotted this small tree grasping tenaciously the unstable clay bank. I took a number of photos looking down at it and decided this one was my favourite.
Photo taken with a Canon 7D and EF 50mm f/1.4 hand held. B&W Jpeg processed from RAW with ACDSee Pro 6.

I've spent most wednesday mornings for the last six years with a couple of friends at our favorite bakery. Coffee, sweets, and the company of some of the best women I know, This is the view out the bakery window, one of my favorite views in the city.
We were waiting in line to pick up her brother from school and she found this plastic flower pettle laying on the ground. This is one of the very few times I have asked her to pose and she did very well. I took it as we stood in line outside and used lightroom to add the white vignette later.
Weston is my youngest grandson, at least for a couple of months until his younger brother arrives. =) This kid... a big brother?! Absolutely!
Looking out the front door, his older brother has his attention and his delight. Weston is so expressive, and the youngest (so far) in a succession of really good looking grandkids... what can I say... good genes. ;)

You can watch the sun all day if you want (although I do not recommend that as you can get a headache or burn your retinas), but you won't see what someone else does. You will never be able to look through someone else's eyes and see it the way they do. I'm sorry, it just won't happen.
For Window Wednesday! Another section of the building as seen through colored and textured glass at the Museum of Prairiefire in Overland Park, Ks. If interested, here is an overall exterior image of the museum: www.flickr.com/photos/kansasexplorer/15091087806/in/photo...

My wife and I visited the Richmond Animal Protection Society (RAPS) in the last weekend.
We were bringing some cat food donation to them and seeing the cats on the site.
The cats are lovely in my eyes. I can see they look forward to new life and they are very friendly to visitors.
RAPS operates a no-kill shelter in Richmond. Please support their work and check their website for more info.
Here are the pictures of other cats I met before in RAPS .
Happy Tuesday!
This one has a surreal feel to it...reminds of dreams I used to have as a kid.
For the last couple of years, I have been watching guys fishing at this small pond on an abandoned lot by Lake Lewisville. I thought it might be a nice place to take some pics of my buddies.
The house is long gone, this is all that remains.
And, in the rainy season, when it's greener, and which will lead you to a third view of this window :-)
A little bear has crawled up to sit on our window, probably dreaming of all that honey all those bees are making. He is of course staying in, he told me he is in hive-ernation!
A woman gazes thoughtfully through a window, her reflection captured in the glass. It is late afternoon, and the subtle light creates a serene atmosphere.
