Mom's surgery went well. We have her follow up appointment today and they will remove the bandages. This image was taken at our consultation appointment before the surgery.

Yesterday we got in a pretty bad car wreck. My mother was resting at the condo and Garry and I headed to Popeyes Chicken. The chicken was fantastic but the drive back wasn't. We are pretty certain the car is totaled. No serious injuries, mom's fine, and I'm so glad she wasn't with us!

I had my good camera with us but was shaking so bad I had no desire for photo ops. I used my iPhone instead. Tomorrow I'll post a crappy picture from the wreck.

IPad brushes June 2016 A daily record of a woodland that I've been familiar with for 34 years. It is good to record these places in a very personal way come rain or shine. I like to see the place without making anything picturesque, rather setting down what's before me at different times of day and not overworking each piece, keeping it spontaneous and fresh. Inspired by Charles Burchfield and Emily Carr among others. In some ways a pendant to my Simon's wood series and to be part of my Looking Out exhibition.

Scenes from the Blizzard of January 2022:

For Cape Cod, it rained almost all night long. Then, just before dawn, it began to snow. For the first part of the day we got heavy wet snow that stuck to everything. By nightfall, as the temperatures dropped and the wind picked up, the snow had become light and fluffy. I watched the pressure drop over 30 mb over a 24 hour period, and with that, the intense wind delivered our predicted power outages. We lost power on Saturday night around 6 pm and got it back on Sunday night around 11pm. In our neighborhood, the storm snow total was about 16 inches.

At the North Sea coast.

late in the evening I realized I have no photo for the day, so I took a quick snap of the paper crane hanging in my kitchen window then went to sleep. and of course in the morning I wasn't very happy with the result, so I added a lot of effects. but one thing I am pleased with is that I managed to edit out the thread by which it hangs.

Several cars drove through this shot. The ghosting seems to give it a nice touch.

Looking out at a large farm property in Armstrong B.C. After the death of a relative, the family had to get together and empty this very full 14 acre property to be able to sell it. We took a drive to take a tour of this fun property. What an imense task.
