Following my overnight stay at the Pig, I went to a caravan park near Burnham on Sea, for a few days. Some years ago I did a series called "Boozing with My Brother," and this is a continuation of that, but I want it to be more travel oriented.
Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all my Canadian flickr friends celebrating this special holiday!

Kate Atkinson's books are like a trip back to the home country for me. She captures so well the small towns, characters, and general quirkiness of the areas right around where I grew up in the north of England :-) Since I can't travel there for a while, this book has been like a mini nostalgic visit. Happy Sliders Sunday.

This weekend all is very still in Lisbon and while walking around I found that this photo shows a bit of what is this "long weekend" ... this is the electric tram that takes you up the hill to see the wonderfull view of Lisboa - the Bica elevator.... it kinds of shows how "lazy" we feel this weekend ... to all a nice day/weekend either in the city or somewhere else.
Pls see this for info:

There was a power outage over the weekend at Algonquin Park's Lake Opeongo outfitter station. Consequently, not many people were around at sunset - only the sounds of a generator and a few kids laughing at each other's dockside fishing antics. Eventually the generator fell silent and the kids left - leaving us the last ones out. A solitary loon called out but there was no answer.

I have to mention this. Its noon and lunch time. We have seen billboards of Wall Drug for nearly 200 miles. Wall Drug this, Wall Drug that. That was some kind of an advertising blitz about this small town. There is more advertising for "Wall Drug" on I-90 than for Taj Mahal and Pyramids of Giza combined. We were like, what the heck is this place?
Finally we decided to take an exit and see what's this all about. The name of the city is Wall and it has a big Drug store and a shopping complex, hence Wall Drug. The place is little historic but not to the point that you advertise about this town on infinite number of billboards for hundreds of miles on both sides. We went into this big, "supposedly" old pharmacy, had lunch, checked out the "famous" places and got out of there. If any of you are traveling on I-90 and wonder what's in Wall Drug: NOTHING. Don't waste your time over there. I am simplifying this for you by placing it on the map.
But thanks Wall Drug for the donuts.

I appreciate each and every visit, comment and fave here on my little corner of the world as seen through my lens.

People obviously had some drinking to catch up on during the first long weekend after pandemic restrictions were lifted in South Australia.

Instead of posting more photos from Tibet, I decided that maybe it is a good idea to upload some photos that I took in Vancouver to keep things fresh :)
This week is BC's long weekend. Many people went to other province or the state for the weekend. For me, I decided that I need a small break after traveling for so long. Instead of going somewhere far, I decided to go and do a small hike in Chilliwack. I planned to go both the Bridal Vel Falls and Ladner Creek Trestle.
Driving to Chillwack was quite easy, it only took me 2 hours to get there. The hike was also quite short, 5mins to the waterfall. The waterfall is quite amazing and it is packed with people.... :) I waited roughly half an hour for a chance to take a shot with no people in the frame.... have a great weekend everyone!
