A grey, drab morning with a cold southerly breeze bringing patchy rain. At least the lily pods add a little sparkle to the garden.
Sydney has been locked down for weeks it stems from coronavirus. We have been asked to stay at home. There were very few people in the streets when I went to buy my Chinese food. The shopping centre was nearly empty.
I have set myself a lockdown challenge too only take photos in my garden or from my garden. It is going to be interesting to see what effect this has on my photographic skills. With no travelling involved I will be able to take advantage of the change in the light conditions, and hopefully this will help me improve my eye for a composition.

During my Lockdown Exercise i managed to photography Colas Railfreight Class 70 70812 on 6c37 1030 Chirk Kronospan - Carlisle Yard at Woodacre near Garstang on 17/01/2021

Can't pretend that I am not tired of it all. Twelve months of trying to do the right thing yet hardly seeing the rest of the family. The daily exercise has little excitement, and a trip to the supermarket is like a day out.
The Oak tree still stands, so I thought I would take some anniversary photos before restrictions ease

Exactly one week before Christmas, the Netherlands is going into lockdown again.
I can hear the whole of the Netherlands sighing, prime minister Rutte said in his lockdown announcement.
Photo taken during the fairfun in Nantes. These children playing in a bubble evoke the periods of confinement during the pandemic.
Ironically a more positive development, these bubbles are now a fairground attraction...
