you'll see a lot of painters put out their work during the weekends in the french quarter and passers by will admire, talk and sometimes buy.
This little lady started off a bit wary, then loosened up in typical new orleans friendliness, ended up telling me some great stories over a few beers and made for a good portrait subject.

This is our 6th year collecting toys for St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Local 14 collected over $8,000.00 in toys this year.
Tree-frogs have been scarce this year due to the extremely dry weather. When it finally did rain, I checked out a favorite tree-frog "hidey-hole". Sure enough, one was there.
From the looks of it though, no one has done any cleaning yet this year.

Baia Nicchia is a small farm and nursery located in Sunol, California. Fred Hempel and Jill Shepard own and run the farm. Baia Nicchia breeds gourmet vegetables (primarily tomatoes), and grows a variety of crops. The focus is on tomatoes, sweet peppers, squash and herbs.
This local fire department and the crew from Placer County and their engine were on stand bye at the event in case of any emergency.
This is the lake behind my house. I walked down there today looking for the frogs that I can hear all day and all night, but as soon as I got close to the small pool that I believe they are hiding in, all noise stopped and there was no sign of them, so I snapped a few shots of the lake and the still winter looking plants and trees.
