In Warren Park, a large city park within walking distance. Looks good View On Black. Well, as good as a mostly black butterfly can look anyway.
It's unusual to see a horse of this colour pulling an Amish cart. Usually the Amish favour non-flashy, solid colour horses like bays, browns, and blacks - and this guy was a little smaller than the usual Amish buggy horses. I couldn't resist taking his photo!
That's the Shipshewana Livestock Auction Barn in the background (yes, live auction - as in horses, ponies, cows, goats, tack, household goods - you name it!

I got an email a few weeks back from a Countryfile researcher, thankfully I was in Dorset.
I've since found out that they have been filming great crested newts in the forest & discussing the grazing of cattle.
I spoke to the ecologist and asked if they were thinking about filming other local herps.
He doesn't think so but they kept on changing their minds in regards to filming.
He also declined to be on the programme.
We have enough numpties locally without advertising :^)

Washing clothes in local streams and rivers is very common in rural areas across Latin America; apparently even when heavy rains and flooding have turned the waters muddy.

El domingo 26 de junio de 2011 la Caravana por la Paz con Justicia y Dignidad visitó el pueblo purépecha Cherán.
Hasta abril, los talamontes, destruían sus bosques, y el crimen organizado los secuestraba y extorsionaba, pero desde entonces Cherán se encuentra en estado de excepción. Todos los habitantes organizaron su autodefensa, y para ello nacieron la ronda comunitaria y las más de 200 fogatas-barricadas que vigilan, cuidan y protegen la comunidad. Los niños no acuden a clases porque todos, incluidos los profesores, participan en la autodefensa.
Por su parte ni el gobierno federal, ni el estatal, han cumplido sus compromisos con la comunidad de Cherán que ha solicitado presencia militar para la protección de sus bosques.
I found this fungus while walking the dog near the local cemetery. It measures about two feet across at its widest point.
I didn't want to miss this opportunity, so I shot it with the cell-cam I had on hand, before the maintenance crew ran into it with a mower. Maybe I'll swap the dog for a Nikon (with the new 35mm prime lens I picked up yesterday at the camera shop in Rockford) and see what I can do with that combination a little later today.

Sorry my friends, it has been a long time since I uploaded something.
This time of year, when the weather is gray, windy and full of rain, I`m usually not much into photography. I also tend to work hard and spend more time with friends and family rather than sitting behind my computer.
This is some old stuff from my vacation :)
