My mom and my Aunt J. decided to hire 2 jeepneys and treat everyone to a trip to the beach.

Day Thirteen

I wasn't happy with any of the results from the Ebay search...so I went a little different route and just scrapped a few pictures I'd been holding onto for awhile.

Little random...but as you know by now, so am I.

The photo on the left is elevated with pop dots and lines up with the second picture.

Journaling reads:

"One of my FAVORITE things about the car show was riding in the new jeep on a really interesting obstacle course : over logs, on an angle, up a SUPER steep hill & then down the hill with NO BRAKES! It was totally AWESOME! It makes me want a jeep maybe more now than EVER! Such a fun adventure. 2011 :)"

Loading the plane. Gold Coast Airport

Back after a bit of a hiatus. I'm selling my house this month and sigh had to do some cleaning and packing and organizing. But for now that's done, yay!, and I can get back to scrapping!

I couldn't do all black and white, needed some colour in there. It was fun taking these two photos taken 5 years apart and editing them the same way. My husband is such a fun dad!

Loading grain in to a truck.

The main loading dock in the alley behind the old Miller & Brewer Company in Harriman, Tennessee. Miller & Brewer was a large department store on Roane Street in Harriman until sometime in the 1970s. It now sits abandon, being covered by weeds, rust, mold, and decay. It was once a proud symbol of Harriman's prosperity.

My second hybrid :) The song prompt was easy, The Beatles "All You Need Is Love" was a no brainer for this layout. The LOVE word is embossed using a letterpress plate so it gives the page a little texture.

We bought three bunches of scapes at the Greenmarket a couple weeks ago, and rather than let them go bad in the fridge, I decided to pickle them. :)

Big load of cardamom pods to be cracked and seeds put in the dish for making curry powder. The easiest way to seed the pods is to smack the pod with a mallet. The seeds of the cardamom are a bit sticky so they don't fire off all over the place.

It was cold and in pink meat wrap. Who knows what it was.

Devonport is a city in the north-west of Tasmania, Australia, at the mouth of the Mersey River. It, along with the slightly smaller city of Burnie, is the major regional centres of the north-west of the state. For visitors to Tasmania, it is primarily known as the port for the Spirit of Tasmania ferries - Spirit I and II travel to Melbourne, Victoria.

I never use this much STUFF on my pages... well, not usually. But I just kept pulling things out of drawers, it all fell together, and it doesn't look over-stuffed.

Plus! Behind the picture of my ballerina girl is not cardstock but rather, an envelope. Inside the red envelope is not a diamond tennis bracelet for mommy but the special note that the kids wrote. Equally as valuable, right? :)

The first step in loading a flintlock rifle is to put the gunpowder in the barrel, of course.

Soldiers use skid-steer loaders to remove excess material from roads in Cokedale, Colo., Aug. 11, 2012. The 947th Engineer Company (Horizontal), Colorado Army National Guard, is installing culverts, cleaning ditches and repairing degraded dirt roads in the small town in southern Colorado. These repairs, in turn, will update and improve the town's infrastructure by directing storm water runoff away from building foundations, and improve the overall quality of life in the tiny town. The 35 Soldiers of 2nd Platoon have been working here since Aug. 4. According to town officials, Cokedale is also a National Historic District -- the only intact coal mining town in Colorado and one of a few remaining in the country -- so the Soldiers' work is also helping preserve history. This civil-military project is part of the National Guard’s Innovative Readiness Training program. Civil-military IRT projects enhance unit training and readiness, while filling a community need that is not otherwise being met. The unit must maintain its readiness by performing realistic training, and IRT projects provide a meaningful outlet for that training and help connect National Guard units with the communities they serve. Looks a bit big for the lorry. But I forget that it is India. If that was a bicycle, that would about the right sized load.
