Aboard the steamer Michipicoten at the LS&I dock in Marquette, Michigan loading ore for Essar Steel at Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The chute empties one "pocket" on the dock, the boat is winched along the dock to align the hatches with chutes while loading back on October 23, 2010.
Just a few miles out of Minntac, these tac loads are bound for Proctor Yard before heading down to the dock in Duluth for unloading.

Maryland Midland's UBEG heads eastbound approaching Union Bridge, Maryland with stone loads for Finksburg. After Finksburg they would continue to the CSX interchange in Emory Grove to pick up cement cars dropped by the L136 earlier in the day.
Leading the train are the fairly new SD50s brought in to replace the SD40M-2s, which are on "the EPA list" for scrap. Only one SD40M-2 (3449) remains in service on the MMID, the 3450 blew a traction motor and was canned and should end up getting scrapped. These SD50s definitely aren't terrible, but can also be an eyesore to most people.

With their inbound train of chip loads and paper empties dropped on the main, power for the Toledo Hauler runs around its train. A GP40-2 and a former NS road slug are the two easternmost units on this set of power.
With the closure of Yancoal's Duralie coal mine in 2021 and the last train load from Stratford operating last week, coal loads on the North Coast line are now a thing of the past.
