One of my favorite birds--- the color is just so beautiful. I don't see these often , but was lucky enough to find several while out walking through a meadowlands section of a local park.

I had a couple of hours to kill on Friday night and as I wasn't too far from the City, thought I'd try to take a few night shots. Sally my GPS took us on a merry chase and we ended up someplace other than I wanted to be. We continued on and after wasting over an hour trying to get somewhere, we arrived at a spot I thought might work. I scouted the area and went back to get my gear, only to find I had left my tripod plate at home.
Let's just say there might have been tears.
So, in a very grumpy mood, we headed back home over the City Link Freeway. While driving through the Sound Tunnel, all lit up in pretty colours, I thought I'd have a go at taking an image through the windscreen. I took a couple and we looped around and I took a couple more from our moving vehicle. At least the night wasn't entirely wasted!

...
A new series. Out of square format, no title except that "engraved" on each photo GPS coordinates "a place of reliving a moment." In fact all the photos in this series are from my 1st photos made in 2009 with a modest Samsung.
Thank you for this one I've exhausted, finished with Scotch for his seal ...
and offered me a "window" to the world!

We love to watch the lazy back-and-forth movements of these velvety beauties as they sample milkweed in my butterfly garden. I have planted Milkweed, Mexican Sunflower to feed on and lay the Monarch's eggs. They always fan their wings as they feed. I planted Italian parsley for them in my herb garden to lay the eggs on for the baby caterpillars to feed on. When you look close and put your ear close you can hear the crunching of the parsley leaves and stems 😄.

Thank you all for the visit, kind remarks and invites, they are very much appreciated! 💝 I may reply to only a few comments due to my restricted time spent at the computer.

The establishment is owned by Mr. JD Russel, a distinguished gentleman with rugged good looks and dark hair. It was rumored that he had once stood alongside the President during the famed charge up San Juan Hill, a tale that added to his allure. Whenever he was not engaged in assisting patrons, he took pleasure in offering a complimentary piece of hard candy from his extensive display.
This day, as I approached the entrance, he could be seen diligently sweeping the walkway. Upon noticing my presence, his face brightened with a warm and cordial smile as he stepped forward to hold the door open. “Good afternoon, Miss MacKenna. A truly splendid day, is it not?” he inquired graciously. I responded with a smile, expressed my thanks, and offered a playful wink. “Indeed, Mr. Russel, it is a most delightful day,” I replied.
I hope you enjoy my photos ♥

Montana Rail Link's once weekly local to Whitehall glides along the Jefferson River west of Sappington, MT. Turn the clock back about 60 years and you could have seen the North Coast Limited on the far side of the river passing the Olympian Hiawatha on the near side of the river. Code line poles and overhead catenary supports are all that remain of the "Pacific Coast Extension".

Montana Rail Link SD45 (rebuilt locomotive called a SD45-2) No. 328 heads back to Missoula light after setting out a “Jimbo” work train at Thompson Falls, Montana, on September 19, 2012. Unique caboose No. 1007 came from MRL’s sister railroad SRY Rail Link, and was originally from the British Columbia Hydro Railway.
The old railway track – and the Downs Link – were hidden away a little down the road and soon I was strolling along a path strewn with fallen leaves beautiful nestled in the South Downs just stunning and amazing views..

Montana Rail Link EMD SD70ACe locomotives used in helper service over Mullan Pass accumulated a ton of grime and soot working through confining Mullan Tunnel under the Continental Divide. MRL washed these units on a nearly daily basis, as this crew from R&R Mobile Services does on brand new No. 4305 at Helena, Montana, on October 8, 2005.
Please follow this link to his song on Suno
All the mirrors cracked no truth behind the glass
Shattered pieces fall fate cuts the past
I'm walking shadow roads chasing fading gleams
No one wakes me up I'm my own dreams
City hums at night whispers in the breeze
Streetlights paint my face haunt me like disease
I scream into the dark but no one ever hears
Following my heartbeat drowning out my fears
I'm my own dreams no one else can see
Living in the haze where the wild ones flee
Writing every page this ain't destiny
I'm my own dreams time dissolves the plea
Fire in my lungs words burn like ash
Counting every breath slow inhale crash
The echoes in my chest a rhythm I believe
Everything I hold is something I conceive
I've been a storm I've been a cage
Flames of myself beyond the stage
Turning light to smoke and smoke into streams
Can't no one wake me up I'm my own dreams
I'm my own dreams no one else can see
Living in the haze where the wild ones flee
Writing every page this ain't destiny
I'm my own dreams time dissolves the plea

Fence Friday
It's not much of a fence, but it is the divide between my neighbour's private property and the public highway.
I always get a laugh that our garbage is so well protected by a chain link fence with barbed wire at the top. We wouldn’t want anyone to remove any trash and lessen the load that the county trucks have to haul. I was at the dump on Memorial Day and every dumpster was full. The dump man came out of his teeny, tiny shed and pointed to an overflowing dumpster over my head. I told him I couldn’t fling my trash bags up that high. I think I mentioned something about not knowing this county had requirements of being able to play basketball to live here. The dump man told me to pull my car over and he would show me how to get it in. He heaved a big bag over his head and flung it right into the dumpster. I flung my bag and it hit the side of the dumpster. We had to scramble to get out of the way of its trajectory on the way down. I guess he could see I was a hopeless cause because he kindly tossed the rest of the bags up and in. What was my point ... oh, yeah, I asked why everything was so full. He was complaining that the county insists on keeping the dumps open 24/7, but the trucks that pick up the big dumpsters don’t work on Sunday’s or holidays. This causes quite a backlog of trash. Thus, my point that having a fence to keep people from removing trash seems silly. HFF
