37175 with 37421 on the rear and out of sight departs Malvern Link with the inevitable hills forming the backdrop on 12-5-21.
The train is seen passing the 'Americas' playing field on Lower Howsell Road. It was during the Second World War that the field became a meeting place for American troops based nearby with the local females.
The working is 1Q16 0318 Landore T.M.D. to Derby R.T.C.(Network Rail) Test train.
This is a different frame from a previously uploaded photo with less impact but more of the scene.
Not quite back to the time of the class50's foliage wise but good enough! I commented at the time that the view will not stay like this for long and it didn't. Come the summer and the view was lost forever?!.
When I left the house there was little hope of sun but a significant break appeared only to disappear again into high cloud. Thankfully it came back a few minutes before the train came.

Music Link: Vidna Obmana - "The Embrace in Motion" from his album "Twilight of Perception". Obmana's spare, almost stark soundscapes are both highly electronic and primitivistic at the same time - a kind of digital, percussive, shamanistic simplicity. I like these pieces of Obmana's connected up with the 3 images in this small series. It seems to suit them.

I've been trying to get lightning shots with the Nikon D300 with some success however i still have not been able to replicate what i was able to shoot with the old Nikon Coolpix 8700. Rather odd given i have so much control and features to assist with the D300. This is from earlier this summer prior to the "upgrade" to the D300 and is a shot of Jersey City, New Jersey looking north with New York City in the distant right.

This is a snippet of a page created by (looking through scans for names). I think her choice of the butterflies over the eyes, almost veil-like, was wonderful. Beautiful piece. :)
Everyone donated their extra pages (a participant dropped) so I made covers and some written content for a book to go on auction in benefit of Robin Whittemore's family. Robin lost her battle with breast cancer in July of this year and her family could use some help with the medical expenses. I encourage everyone in the art community to show their financial support of their fallen sister and help her family cope with what they are dealing with now.
Montana Rail Link's Gas Local, between Missoula and Thompson Falls, typically runs the 10th Sub between Missoula and Paradise as it is a more direct route across the state. On occasion, the train will take the more circuitous 4th Sub if traffic or track work is present. As we were heading back east toward Missoula, we spent a night in St. Regis, opting to pick a spot on the 4th Sub one evening and see what showed up. Surprisingly, the only train we saw was the Gas Local, pictured here just outside town with MRL 4407, the Veterans wrapped SD70ACe, leading.
