For the Prudence Mapstone's organized Hang- Ups! exibition in Australia. I finally started taming my very thin linen yarn, some parts of this crochet and knit piece were done with 3 strands and some with 6 strands of it.

couldn't find this fabric on their website but they did have this pick.

that print is highly COVETABLE, consider me 'on the prowl'

I tea stained (green) this very old piece of linen from my husband's grandmother, then made a simply detailed skirt for a toddler. I love the pink scallop detail.

Hmmm...how do you feel about some linen with some Echino patchwork, partner? Or is Echino not your style?

I used the Colette Dahlia pattern, with altered hemline. The fabric is a basic green linen, with hand embroidery.

...originally thought I would use something from my childhood book, "Gypsy Folk Tales" which I was quite into...(yeah, very odd, I know)

but they are rather obscure and I just couldn't get naughty Rapunzel out of my head so I went with it...

man, though, these fairy tales are fairly desolate and grim...tell me again why we tell these stories to our children?

having said that, lots of other stories keep popping into my head now...Androcles & the

Lion, Jack & the Bean Stalk, the Golden Goose, Puss In Boots...see, I'm just going nuts here!

Loved linen shirt with reverse-appliquéd patch under hole. Patch is pre-washed cotton lawn. Pre-washing of patch fabric is important (unless it's synthetic or you're repairing something that wont be washed) in order to avoid subsequent shrinkage of the new fabric in the repaired area, which will likely lead fairly quickly to the fix failing. Alternatively, pillage your patch fabrics from worn and washed articles.
