While not the best photo I've ever taken, I found it fascinating to watch this little Lined Day Gecko successfully take on a comparatively huge Huntsman Spider.

Local switching in Waupaca on a nice sunny day in 1978. I was thinking this was one of the pictures I got from Jerry Thompson but I realized it is one I took because the prints I got from him were a different format.

Red Line 7000 refers not to this reflected streak of sunlight 1 â…“ miles up in the sky, but to the race car tachometer reading in the 1965 movie of that name. Here is a link to a scathing, insightful, too-long review of the film.

Supercar Sunday 2014.

Supercar Sunday 2014. I had a great day today at the circuit in Zandvoort during the three events in one day: Supercar Sunday, Paddock Porsche and the National Oldtimer Festival. Many impressive cars, from brand new supercars to classic expensive cars. To begin; the stunning new Wraith in combination with one of the most craziest cars ever, the G63 AMG 6x6 (and many more varying supercars).

Yet more computer problems! It will not load anything from my camera at the moment so I have had to post 2 old images that I hope fit the theme this week! Apologies!!

I may have mentioned on a few other posted shots that we were able to shoot a plethora of CSX trains on the Indy Line, which was decently busy on this nice Saturday in October. The most challenging part of the day was the lighting.

Here we see CSX train M217 (Twin Oaks, PA to Louisville, KY, autos) splitting the intermediates at a fast clip near Quincy, Ohio on CSX's former Big Four (CCC&StL)/NYC/PC/CR Indianapolis Line Sub.

I'm not sure, but I believe these tri-light signals have been replaced.

SOO AS-616 392 leads a freight train into Houghton, MI., during a typical Upper Peninsula winter season in this 1964 - 1965 photo.

SOO 392 is no stranger stranger to the cold, harsh, and snowy winters typical of the Houghton area. 392 was originally built in February of 1951 for the Duluth, South Shore & Atlantic Railroad as it's locomotive number 208.

The Soo Line acquired the DSS&A on January 1st. 1961, and shortly after renumbered it 392. In late October/early November of 1963 the Soo Line repainted it into there classic red and off white paint. 392 was retired and scraped in 1969.

The Soo Line it's self was relatively new to the scene in Houghton, having not reached the town until the DSSA acquisition in 1961.

Bee Line 645 (XJA 531L), still carrying Ribble-inherited fleet number 1645 in error, pictured in the aftermath of a little altercation with something or someone that has rather left its mark.

The damage was not too serious as it turned out and 645 (or 1645 if you prefer) remained in service with Bee Line for a few years more.

When I used to get the tube on a regular basis Leicester Square is where I got off and this is where this passageway is.

I stopped using the underground because it really is a dirty place and the walk is quite pleasant especially on a sunny day; however the underground is full of opportunities for photography.

So the other night I thought that I’d take a ride on the ‘Northern Line’ from ‘Leicester Square’ to ‘Kings Cross’ (it’s by no means a direct route), the tube is still busy at 21:00 so getting empty passageways proved to be a task itself…… I’m feeling a very early morning or a late night coming :-)

Friday at last...... Have a great weekend everyone!!
