I want to take you far from the cynics int his town
And kiss you on the mouth
We'll cut out bodies free from the tethers of this scene,
Start a brand new colony
Where everything will change,
We'll give ourselves new names (identities erased)
The sun will hear the grounds
Under our bare feet in this brand new colony
Everything will change, oOo oOo...
An extract from the lyrics of "Brand New Colony" by The Postal Service.

This technical illustration was commissioned by Brigham Young University in Utah to show the layout of their Marriott School. The building was first modelled in Archicad and then a view was rendered in Lightworks with cutaways to reveal the interior layout. This finished artwork used a composite of renders, worked in photoshop. The colour render had watercolour filters applied to give a more illustrated feel, and a sketch render was added for the linework.
The illustration was used in the university's literature, website and on signage to help students and visitors navigate the facilities.

Vancouver-based artist Bill Pechet of Pechet Studio has teamed up with lighting co-designer Chris Pekar of Lightworks and Montreal-based LED lighting manufacturer Lumenpulse to create one remarkable public art installation called Emptyful. The towering structure, which mimics a mammoth sized laboratory flask, stands 35-feet tall and 31-feet wide, weighing in at approximately 48,500 lbs. Located at Winnipeg’s Millennium Library Plaza, Pechet’s sculpture serves as a real crowd pleaser, grabbing the attention of visitors and casual pedestrians alike.

Positive Attracts by Edwin Cheong (Singapore)
Positive Attracts explores the belief that the optimism of our mental state of mind (4th Dimension) can effect a positive outcome of our physical state (3rd Dimension). The installation consists of the Artist's 9 favourite optimistic visionaries (Heroes) who have used their mental state to effect positive outcomes in their physical world. Inspired by songs such as "Rainbow Connection" and "Somewhere over the Rainbow", these Heroes incubate dreams and will "deposit positivity" to the public as they draw near to the Heroes. Famous quotes written at base of each Heroes will enable the public to guess who they are.
