We enjoyed a perfect Brisbane evening outdoors, watching the fireworks in the distance of the city while making our own light works. Great performance from My son's new Nikon D810 and from my ridiculously good Aldi torch ($15) which strobes very quickly on its lower setting. Happy 2016 to everyone. Photo credits to Brent Woods.

Asia's first sustainable light art festival.

My Public Garden is a luxurious glowing garden, a playful and festive park full of fanciful plants and enchanted flowers. A total of 29 giant plant-like light sculptures of 6 different varieties will make up the bouquets adorning the site.Marina Bay will be transformed into an imaginary landscape from an artist's sketchbook, where giant wild plants bloom in the darkness, glowing softly with an elegant luminosity. It is an enchanted forest, beckoning the public to enjoy an intimate stroll among the immense, alluring bouquets. The light sculptures are large artworks, the smallest being 3.5m tall & the largest at 11m, visible from far away, creating a beautiful landscape even from a distance, offering an interplay of perspectives.
What's Smart
TILT has consistently worked on their oldest art installations to reduce energy usage. For example, the original 7.5m tall Herbum Follus consumed 4,100W but now uses only 700W, without having to compromise on the size and design. The 29 light works are powered by biodiesel fuel.

The installation by Ron Gilad from Flos (Singapore) is at the NTUC building. The lamp around a hoop forms a halo, diffusing its own shadow and the entire wall becomes a low-resolution screen to create a 3D living wall effect.

This copy of Imagine Magazine, with EditShare CEO Andy Liebman on the cover, came in the mail today, while Andy and most of the rest of EditShare were in Las Vegas for NAB 2013.
The magazine’s web site uses a Flash-based widget that renders a pixel-perfect version of the print layout. And it does look nice, but it means we can’t link directly to the article, and the magazine can't be viewed at all on most mobile devices (iOS devices, most Android phones, etc).
Even still, it looks great in print. :-)

Asia's first sustainable light art festival.

The installation is a functional sculpture that illuminates at night while allowing the public to use it as a sitting area. Constructed out of acrylic sheets, the installation features coloured LED lights that are reflected onto the sheets. As a sculpture, it will also serve to give a futuristic edge to the environment.
What's Smart
The artist uses LED lights to light up the edges of the acrylic sheets. The lights are programmed to change rhythmically to form a dynamic light display.
