This is pretty much the last good shot I got from the storms on the night of the 10th. This image shows the separation of little but powerful storm cells that were popping up everywhere that night. I took this in the back lot of the Walt's Supermarket store in my village.
Light on the bottom left is sunset light that randomly shone through the systems.
A blurred image due to very strong winds with bolts of lightning in the distance.
Thank you very much for your visit and comments my friends..cheers
.
During a good storm, I'd set up the tripod, set the camera for a 10 second exposure time and keep clicking. The 'spray and pray' technique combined with a good storm would often result in a few good shots.
Here, the shot was desaturated, and then a black to white gradient map used, with a purple color stop. Not the typical monochrome color of sepia or cyan, but...
For Donnerstagsmonochrom.
A couple of photos blended together of some of the forked lightning seen during last nights storm. Out of over 300 shots taken, only these 2 were worth keeping.
Taken during a summer storm in Chamonix, France.

I had just gotten a Sportsmobile and was off on my first adventure when I was lucky enough to encounter some bad weather and captured this nice lightning strike over the mesas.
So pleased I made the effort to go out & chase the storm because this image made my night. The most spectacular fork lightning I've ever seen in my life, and it was right behind the famous Blackpool Tower
Triple lightning bolt during a nocturnal thunderstorm, south of Attica, on Aegina isl. Night of Nov. 6, 2022.

Took this capture from the deck where I was out of the rain under a canopy. The light in the yard was from lightning that was in the sky overhead out of the frame, but happened during the 30 seconds of exposure and provided the nice foreground lighting. I guess that could be called Lightning Lighting :)
Happy Bench Monday

This is my first go at using Lightroom which I just got a few hours ago. A picture of lightning seemed to be a very fitting subject for Lightroom somehow. :-) I played with a few adjustments to colour (though not very much), adjusted the tilt of the image as the horizon was previously crooked and cropped it.
This is a picture I took from my balcony with my iPad a few years ago. The lightning put on quite a show that evening for a good hour and a half before the rain started. Dry lightning storms (actually a misnomer since rain is produced but turns to vapour quickly) happen occasionally where I live since it is very hot and dry in the summer. The area is classed as semi-arid.
