Looking north from the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in its old location by the beach.
My mother took the photo in 1996. I posted it for its historic value. Obviously, the view from the lighthouse in its new location is quite different.
In the foreground, the remains of the original lighthouse.
The tower in the distance is the Robert Moses State Park. The very end of this land mass called, "Fire Island" is the inlet. The Great South Bay in on the right, the Atlantic is on the left.

The weather was strong - with days where the wind was over 30m/s but never the less the Icelandic beauty was on full display. These images are from a brief roadtrip along the South Coast.
All of these images are single exposure with basic edits - nothing added, nothing removed. The only use of AI is for moderate noise reduction.

Not much to sea... Yeah, I crack myself up. But look at those rainbows. Standing inside this glass tower was like standing inside a giant prism. The sun was very low on the horizon so it was really shining into this room. I kept expecting a bright flash of light to bounce off the lens and blind me.
My mom, my sister, and I went for a day trip to the St. Augustine lighthouse. I'm deathly afraid of heights but I braved it just to get a picture of the awe-inspiring view.
