I want to take honest pictures this year… I want to take pictures where I am not faking a pose- making a smile to make one- what the camera captures is how I feel. You wouldn’t know it by looking at this picture- but I’m actually feeling positive on this day.
This week saw two events in my personal life- really three that really should never ever have to happen. It’s a part of life- and they are things that you learn and grow from, but they were really hard lessons. But part of learning from them is learning that life is precious- life is short. Sometimes the things we place value in… in the grand scheme of things, really don’t mean squat, while other things we don’t notice or recognize everyday are utterly priceless.
I may not look happy here- but I feel at peace. And that on so many levels along with the feeling of appreciation for what I have means the world to me.

Kendi and I took our Explore the Neighborhood walk today and we came across this happy trio pecking on the sidewalk! We got close enough to watch and listen and take a video but not close enough to spook them, then a neighbor drove by and said they belong to the homeowner and they're always out but never wander into the street or get lost. Very cool!
