Salt is an ionic compound, made of sodium and chloride atoms (NaCl). When a number of these molecules get together to form a crystal, they tend to arrange themselves in a cubic pattern. As a result, the salt crystals are also cubic. The ones that aren’t were the elder crystals rounded by ordinary surround friction. I saw a bumper sticker today that read "Life is the School, Love is the Lesson" For some reason it reminded me of a series of photos I took recently... this being one of them.
I'm going to be making a set of pictures describing lessons I've learned with difficulty over the last year.
#1) I've had to learn that, by looking back at the past (be that mistakes you've made, or hardships you've had to endure), you'll never see the future. After spending almost two years of pain and self torment over my first relationship, I've finally realized that, though I had learned quite some lessons from all of the self meditation and soul searching I had gone through, I had wasted valuable time with Family, Friends, and God by focusing on me and my pain. I had used a great deal of the life God gave me to mourn a lesson he was teaching me.
So I've learned that you can't drive into the Unknown while looking in the rear view mirror. And you can't Live your Future while Dreaming of your Past.
Never Look Back. Always Look Forward.

This is his first Kiwi Crate project, a Polar Bear catching game! He made his own polar bear paws and ears and covered a small ball with velcro so it sticks to the paws when he catches it! He did most of it by himself and he's so proud.

He wanted to write a story for New Year's so he drew the cover page. It says "New Year's Eve by Shel Kendi". I asked him why it said Shel Kendi and he said, "You know, like Shel Silverstein. He wrote and illustrated his own stories, just like me!"

The framework isn't right, the color isn't right, NOTHING is right about this, except for the fact that these two guys made my shitty day less shitty. This morning, these homeless guys approached my group of friends and started talking to us. We weren't afraid because they didn't seem dangerous, they were smiling and telling us their stories. Which now, made me realize, that no one can judge them. No one has the right to say anything about them. This is the life they chose and they're happy with it. Look at those smiles. I wish I could truly smile like this, I wish I could have funny stories like they do. Of course, life was hard for both of them, but they find happiness even when they had nothing to smile about.
Think about it.
