This is his first Kiwi Crate project, a Polar Bear catching game! He made his own polar bear paws and ears and covered a small ball with velcro so it sticks to the paws when he catches it! He did most of it by himself and he's so proud.

Today I tackled clearing away a very weedy area of the yard to use for gardening. I decided to just dig up as much as i can, going pretty deep and pulling as many roots as I could, then turning over as much of the deeper soil as my aching back would allow. Kendi took the photo!

In theory, we replanted daddy's sweet potato plant. #gardening #outsideplay #natureboy #nofilter

This shot was only possible due to a number of people:

Olivier Bareau, who Skyped an impromptu tutorial on the function of the Match Colour function on Photoshop.

Tony3 who helped me realise how to open more than one photo in Photoshop and work with them as layers

Balakov who came up with the Lego Son of Man concept.

It's life Jim.... who helped to inspire this shot with his appreciation of the quote in the first place :)

EDIT: Replaced 1.5.11 MUCH happier with the brightness now :)

Your teasin' ain't enough. Fed up of bidin' your time when I don't get nothin' back. (Adele: Tired)

One of those weeks where everything and everyone is annoying. I seem to have (unknowingly) been doing and saying the wrong things, and I'm trying to make up for them but it isn't working.. I quote, "Just because you want things a certain way doesn't make them that way", I am learning every day.

I just want this semester to be over with. I have 46 days to go until my first year is over: 3 essays (2 of which are almost done, I'm going to get one completed this weekend) and 2 exams (09.05 and 16.05) to go, I will be done on May 16th at 1600 hours! I love Uni, but I'm looking forward to being able to do what I want for the summer, including celebrating my 21st Birthday (which will definitely take up a whole weekend!) Not that I'm looking too far ahead, but I have friends in third year at Uni who are getting done with their projects and dissertations at the moment, that will be me in two years' time.

I went to the theatre last night (it's becoming a staple in my social calendar, I've been twice this year already!) to see Arthur Miller's "The Price" which I speed read on Monday and very much enjoyed. Aside from all of its depression (economic) themes, I liked the life lessons taught throughout. "One day you're the head of the house, at the head of the table, and suddenly you're shit. Overnight."

"Do anything, but just make sure you win"

As I approached my truck with my basket full of the weekly household consumables I noticed three other shopping carts spread throughout the parking lot. Each one resting on its own; no car, no curb, no people. As I unloaded my cart I proceeded to round up each of the other three baskets. I placed two of them in one cart return and the other two; being that they were closer to an adjacent return; pushed them over to that one. This task took literally less than a min. Why am I relaying my tale of the sporadic baskets one might ask? I’m glad one asked; It’s simple really! The “Target Team Member” that would have normally ushered the carts was literally saved less than a min. The driver who would have had to pick a different spot to park in was saved less than a minute. The other two customers that would have had to join person “One” in their quest for additional parking were also saved less than a minute. The customers inside that were able to find what they were looking for because the Team Member was available sooner; was saved less than a minute. The person that was driving home; to work; to school; to…well anywhere, was saved you guessed it; less than a minute. So much can happen in a minute. Think about everything that happens to us every day. It happens in far less time than a minute; seconds really. A car collision, a chance encounter, a kiss, a smile, a red or green light, a speeding ticket, a dropped glass, a missed accident, or job offer. Everything that we do happens on a second by second basis. Perhaps someone down the line of this “event” made it somewhere just in time. Perhaps they made it to their child’s practice; or a surprise birthday party right before the surprise. Maybe someone else was able to take a break sooner. Another in the chain; well they may have had JUST a really great day. Like so many other things; I may never know.

Now, go give someone your 60 seconds. Time; it’s our most precious commodity. Share it!

Woke up this Easter morning to a few little visitors. lol...this little mama deer has been around since early winter with her two little fawns [the other fawn was busy chomping away on new spring foliage]. Just like children though, the fawns are growing up and starting to discover the ways of life. This show of "affection" lasted about 10 seconds before the mother gently corrected the misbehavior with a swift kick from her left back leg ~ kids!
