The orchid in our living room that bloomed at New Years is still in full bloom. There is nothing better in winter than beautiful living flowers. Have a wonderful Tuesday dear friends.

We are having very few days of summer this year (as usual), but you know...when summer is in Norway everything becomes more shiny and beautiful. Norway is an outdoor country. Most part of activities are into the nature and they need to have good weather conditions to be enjoyed. We have the chance to take the HARDANGER IN A NUTSHELL tour with one night stay in Eidfjord and we got the best weather we could wish us! Sun was shining high and the temperature was worthy to be associate the word summer! We took first the train from Bergen to Voss, after the bus from Voss to Ulvik (that was a great ride!) and they the express boat from Ulvik to Eidfjord. I must say that i'm not any more so impressed about fjord now, anyway the view from the boat is lovely. Once we arrived in Eidfjord we rented out bikes and we went biking from Eidfjord to Øvre Eidfjord (7 km). This was such a nice tour!!! We took the old way next to the tunnels and we had no cars on our road, that was the best way to ejoy the landscape with silent and calm. Unfortunately my bike punched an hole in something and we had to walk half way, we manage anyway to arrive to Øvre Eidfjord and visit FlatEarth - HOME OF ADVENTURES. FlatEarth is a multi-activity company which is offering a lot of different outdoor activities like kayak, rafting, climbing, white water jumping and glacier hike. We rented the kayaks and we went for a tour alone inside the Eidfjord lake which is a "fjord-lake" between Eidfjord and Øvre Eidfjord. The lake was amazing, no other boats there, the water was so calm...like a mirror. We slept in the hostel of FlatEarth and we had a great dinner with fish in Øvre Eidfjord. The day after we went back to Eidfjord by bike and we took a sightseeing bus to the Hardangervidda Nature Center (in Øvre Eidfjord), there we enjoyed 20 minutes panoramic movie by Ivo Caprino and the exhibition in the museum. After we stopped at the Fossli Hotel in order to enjoy a magnificent view on the Vøringfossen (one of the most famous waterfall in Norway). We continue on our way back to Eidfjord with the bus, after we took the express boat to Kinsarvik, Lofthus and went out in Norheimsund. The main part of our tour was done, the last transport was the bus to Bergen where we arrived in the late evening very tired but very happy and satisfied for our amazing tour.
