Level Up! A Ren Faire Show (on Facebook). This is an interactive stage show that changes. No two shows are alike. They get audience members on stage and they choose where stories go at certain points. (sort of like Dungeons & Dragons, but on a stage-sized scale).

At the 195-foot level of Launch Pad 39B, STS-93 Mission Specialist Catherine G. Coleman (Ph.D.) takes in the view. The STS-93 crew are at KSC to participate in a Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test, which familiarizes them with the mission, provides training in emergency exit from the orbiter and launch pad, and includes a launch-day dress rehearsal culminating with a simulated main engine cut-off. Other crew members are Commander Eileen M. Collins, Pilot Jeffrey S. Ashby, and Mission Specialists Steven A. Hawley (Ph.D.) and Michel Tognini of France, who represents the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES). The primary mission of STS-93 is the release of the Chandra X-ray Observatory, which will allow scientists from around the world to obtain unprecedented X-ray images of exotic environments in space to help understand the structure and evolution of the universe. The targeted launch date for STS-93 is no earlier than July 20 at 12:36 a.m. EDT from Launch Pad 39B. Inspired by some of the night photography I've seen lately on fiickr (stay tuned for the names) I thought I would brave the cold and fire off a sketch. No PS other than a slight curves adjustment and balancing for the rooftop vapor lamps...

'Leno State Park is nominated to the National Register of Historic Places under Criteria A and Cat the local level in the areas of Recreation, Social History, and Architecture. The period of significance is from 1935 to 1964. This section ofthe Santa Fe River at the little community of O'Leno had long been a popular gathering place for people in the surrounding area. The park was locally supported since it was first conceived by the Florida Forest Service. The development of the O'Leno State Forest and then O'Leno State Park was part of a job creations program under the Works Progress Administration (WP A). Largely relying on locally quarried stone, and locally milled lumber, the buildings and structures were constructed in the Rustic Style ofFrame Vernacular.

The Tibetan Women’s Advanced Leadership Training organized by the Tibetan Women’s Association (TWA) kick started with a opening ceremony held at the House of Peace and Dialogue, Upper TCV School and was attended by dignitaries from the exile Tibetan Community.

Statistics say the Central Tibetan Administration is comprised of a 46% female and 54% male workforce, but this does not demonstrate the true situation. There is a shocking discrepancy of a low 3% of women at top level positions, in stark contrast to the 97% of males at high level positions. The same picture also fits in many other frames of Tibetan exile Diaspora.

The Tibetan Women’s Advanced Leadership Training (June 7 to June 17), an undertaking of the Tibetan Women’s Association, seeks to not only address this issue, but to tackle it by enabling women’s representation in the higher realms of representation and ranks of governance. Thirty professional and high potential Tibetan women leaders from all over India participated in this 11-day training, which is the first of its kind. Additionally, this training accentuated the implementation of the Kashag’s eight point policy on women’s empowerment launched in October 2010. It also provided a niche platform and a creative forum for potential women leaders to identity and hone their leadership skills.

These engravings on the wall here show the different heights the river crested to from major floods in the past. My best guess is the camera itself is about 10 feet above the current river level to take this photo. The sign marking the 1974 flood must be 20-22 feet above the current river level. (Thats an estimate, whish I knew for sure)

This beautiful hind was munching away on the fresh green shoots along the edge of a ditch when we bumped into her... approaching from down wind we were able to get within 20 meters before her turned to face us... She stared, chewing on a mouth full of leaves for a minute or so and then hopped the ditch and walked across the path just in front of us... keen to get a shot with the sun on her, I followed her into the woods...
