The sun is just about to make an appearance during a morning walk, the level crossing near the old Ames grain elevator showed no signs of activity.
I got logged out of this account for a few years, I finally got back in randomly. I moved halfway across the country and have a huge archive of photos to update here. If you are interested in my work please check out my instagram account @jaysmithphoto for more.
Took this photo on my 30th birthday as a self portrait.

Treated 2x6x8 made for 3 levels. I since drilled two holes with a 3/8" bolt through with wing nuts to keep them together. Stop-blocks used at the end, held on with deck screws.

Mallerstang to Cotterdale on an old high level “Highway” The route was replaced in the 1820's when the B6259 was completed in the valley floor. The track dates back at least two thousand years, and probably much longer, (You can really feel the history whilst enjoying the views) but it is known as Lady Anne’s Highway because Anne Clifford (Countess of Pembroke) travelled along it when she visited her castles which she restored at Skipton, Pendragon, Appleby, Brough and Brougham. She also built and restored churches and almshouses – all this between the ages of 60 and 86. After the first rise is a sculpture by Mary Bourne entitled Water Cut.
The level crossing next to the station at Frinton-On-Sea, Essex. Just a snapshot through the window of a moving coach, so a bit of reflection visible.

RAF Ground crew member waits to fit chocks to taxing A400M (ATLAS).
The RAF’s second A400M arrives into RAF Brize Norton to be accepted into service.
The A400M aircraft in RAF service will be named ATLAS and the RAF took delivery of its first of 22 aircraft in autumn 2014 with deliveries expected to be complete by 2019.
B Flight of No. 206(R) Squadron will be responsible for the test and evaluation of ATLAS.
No. LXX Squadron will be the first active Squadron to operate ATLAS and No. XXIV Squadron are the Operational Conversion Unit and will be responsible for conducting training for ATLAS aircrew, and engineering personnel.
The A400M, which is a collaborative venture involving the governments and industries of six European countries, will support the deployment of the Joint Rapid Reaction Force and will give the RAF a tactical and strategic-airlift aircraft capable of supporting all three services and be interoperable with other nations.
The aircraft is capable of carrying a load of 25 tonnes over a range of 2000nmls at speeds comparable with pure-jet military transports. It will be capable of operating either at low-level (down to 150ft) or at high-level altitudes to 40,000ft, and it will be able to deploy troops and/or equipment between and within theatres of operation either by parachute (up to 108 paratroopers), or by landing on short, unprepared or semi-prepared strips. It will also offer significant improvements in reliability, maintenance and operating costs over the C-130J fleet.
Watching this guy and several others fly and dive around was a real treat! I cropped this one to get it close but I still liked the detail and reflection on the choppy water.
