Don't press in the pins until after you machine your hex flats or you'll need to machine the bulges off to fit in a 5C collet. It's not particularly well finished, but it works.

This is just a tree we spotted in Sisters, Oregon... We were walking through this cute town enjoying a nice summer day & I was trying to teach him a few things about photography!
I just got back from Texas again - I was blessed with a week-long visit to my husband before he deploys.

One of the great lessons of spiritual systems like basic Buddhism is that while there can be a lot of suffering in life caused by external events and forces, and you too often can't really exert any control to make these better, you can learn some degree, often a lot, of control over how you react to events.
This vibrant bit of work was on my list for a long time, but now it looks like I waited a bit too long.
I took them to test a D600 that we have borrowed for review.

I was giving someone basic photography lessons, and at one point I was talking about how I never ask children to smile for pictures. If they smile, cool, but if they aren't smiling, the picture can still be beautiful. Then we glanced over to see our kids interacting, having a sweet moment together in the pretty light from the window.
I always think to myself, I need to take more pictures than I think I need, because more often than not, this happens to my stitches. I guess it's Ahern getting the last laugh, since I was trying to spite him by taking the same exact picture, in the same exact style.
taken with Nikon 500mm reflex. 70 photos of a field, clocking in at 90Megapixels. I may go back and redo it tomorrow..... SO FRUSTRATING!!!

the first session I have done with my little Grace since she 'accidently" chopped off her hair..yes..you heard right! lol She got a round brush tangled in the side and her independant 6 yr old problem solving was to simply "cut it out" and no one would be the wiser! eek! soooo....pixie cut it was..there were tears..mostly mine, but we both have learned a very valuable lesson...to look beyond the outside and to the inside, she is beautiful no matter what...and meanwhile..it grows...
