148/365 Taken the wee hours of this morning - (Wednesday, 11/18/09) Trying to do the best I can to at least keep up with my current photos, & get to posting my older 365 entries when I have a chance to sort them out & edit them. What lesson am I to learn from all of this when I don't think I did anything wrong in the first place? Perhaps I will figure it out in time. View On Black
Take the opportunity to develop your existing surfing ability or start from scratch, a surf lesson on a one to one basis with a qualified BSA instructor. These brilliant beads were made by Vanessa Hearn when she came over for a beginner's lampwork lesson with me a couple of days ago.
I'm so impressed! Didn't she do well?!
Don't press in the pins until after you machine your hex flats or you'll need to machine the bulges off to fit in a 5C collet. It's not particularly well finished, but it works.
Little sister getting dance lesson from big sis at the Ballard Sunday Farmer's Market. Couldn't resist trying to capture the joy of the moment.
Lesson one of long-distance walking - always check your sums when planning
your route. As I had an appointment in Beaconsfield today I decided to walk
there up the Thames from Staines. This is a distance of about 40km (25
miles) - a long way, but easy to do if I took my time.
Unfortunately, I managed to fail to spot that the time I had to do the walk
wouldn't allow me to take it easy at all. In fact, it would require me to
hold a pace which would cover the distance in 4.5 hours. Oops.
By a combination of not stopping and running occasionally I managed to be
"only" about two hours late for my appointment , and I'm still kicking
myself for not spotting this last night. This is the sort of error I can't
afford to make on the End to End.
The scenery was nice, though, and took me past Runnymede, home of the Magna
Carta. It's good to see that King John could have made use of pay and
display parking, the paddling pool, and tea and scones at the Magna Carta
Tearooms after a hard day of negotiations with the barons.
Icing lesson at Wilton Tokyo. The cookie was ready. It was funny even if this world is not really my favorite one ^^;
One of the great lessons of spiritual systems like basic Buddhism is that while there can be a lot of suffering in life caused by external events and forces, and you too often can't really exert any control to make these better, you can learn some degree, often a lot, of control over how you react to events.
This vibrant bit of work was on my list for a long time, but now it looks like I waited a bit too long.
