The Intimidator 305 doesn't intimidate me, but a wise man knows when he's had enough (and is about to puke). Eh, I got eight out of twelve coasters in less than three hours, and even if I missed the new "stars", I hit all the wooden coasters, which are my favorites anyhow. (Grizzly twice!) Time to cool off, grab some expensive food (just smile and hold your wallet up to the vacuum cleaner - you are having fun), then head for home.
Man, that thing dwarfs Rebel Yell (white wooden coaster to the right) - I can remember when RY was the "big" coaster.
Sorry Intamin, your hyper-giga-meta-peta-coasters are awesome, but my heart (and my bruised backside) will always belong to Philadelphia Toboggan Co.
This was a logo I came up with for a project that has to do with sustainability. The idea of Think "Less" focuses on creating packaging and products waste less materials. The 4 main points on the icon represent the four goals to focus on during the creating process of a product. I worked in a group for this project. We proposed the idea, which is more detailed than I will put here and came up with a website and iphone app. Our presentation ended up getting selected to present to AIGA Shift.

In less than a week I'll head over to that side of the world and stay for a little less than 3 months. So that almost concludes my amazing 6 months in Europe, but I've yet much more to look forward to. I'll be traveling around US and Canada for a few weeks first, then stay put in NY for 1 month then travel to Cuba and Mexico before heading back home.
Looking forward to seeing and meeting everyone on that side of the ocean.

Merge (2014)
More Merge madness from their 7" series. Though the deeper we get into the series, the less interested in it I'm becoming.
Case in point is Hiss Golden Messenger. They're a band I'm not familiar with, but that's not the problem. Half of the reason I sign up for singles clubs is to hear about new bands. But I don't really need to hear more like this. It's another blast of generic NPR style rock. The singer has a nasal vocal delivery, aiming for a Bob Dylan sort of thing, but never really pulls it off. The song has a slight alt country tinge to it, but at the end of the day is just boring.
Matt Scuggs is significantly more interesting. It comes off a bit like Modern Guilt era Beck with its muted bass guitar and drums driving the verse. At the tail end of the song, Scuggs delivers that loud blast of guitar that you felt building up, but the song is far too short. It's very good and I do like it, but it could have been much longer and really needed a killer chorus to push it over the top.
Part of a series of photos today looking at abandoned strip malls in Mesa Arizona. Ghostly, haunted, and curious as these are not extremely old structures, they have potential for modern use, yet they site\ among as as a reminder.
