Kelly's little black dog reminded me of my Lauren's "Ringo" except that he's less well groomed and also slightly less cute.
Obsessed with the thought of making a shirt with as less seams as possible, still having a good fit. Here I'm down to 12.
Pukiawe, a small shrub usually less than 4 feet tall, thrives on the loose, dry cinder soils up to about 11,000 feet elevation. It is a food source for the Hawaii state bird, the nene.
The small red, white or reddish white berries are not edible by humans, but they are sometimes collected and strung into leis. In ancient times Hawaiians crushed the berries to make a dye for tapa cloth, and also sometimes used the leaves to treat headaches and colds. Hawaiian ali'i, or royalty, sometimes made small fires of dried pukiawe branches and leaves. It was believed that bathing in the smoke of a Pukiawe fire would cloak the mana of the ali'i, and allow him to move freely amongst commoners.

Unter dem Motto "Kindern eine Zukunft schenken" ist es uns gelungen, dass der Präsident des Deutschen Kinderschutzbundes e.V., Heinz Hilgers, die Schirmherrschaft übernahm und uns mit seinem Besuch in der Villa Lessing ehrte. In seinen Grußworten appellierte und erinnerte er die Gesellschaft daran, dass Kinder die Zukunft unseres Landes und unseres Wohlstandes sind. Die vielen Gäste fühlten sich bei sommerlichen Wetter im Gartenbereich der Villa Lessing äußerst wohl und sorgten dafür, dass ein enormer Spendenbetrag für den Kinderschutzbund Ortsverband Saarbrücken e.V. zusammen gekommen ist. Einen besonderen Dank gilt allen ehrenamtlichen Helfern und Sponsoren des diesjährigen Sommerfestes."

We found this more or less by chance. Having engaged a local in conversation regarding the Mouassine Fountain (he was extremely knowledgeable) we were advised to look beyond, into the public toilet area behind the fountain. This structure contains a 'Howz' contemporaneous with the fountain (1562-63) and probably formed part of a 'Sahn' in the greater Mosque complex. It can be compared to the much older Koubba Ba'adiyin in terms of function and probably also informed the style. Sadly, this building has been neglected although under the protection of UNESCO. It is to be hoped it can be sensitively restored and given the attention it deserves. It can be found only by entering the public toilet area through a small gate about 5m to the right of the fountain as you face it.
