June 25th, 2013 - 44 Quiet Nights, Day 27 - Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah
The day's hike: Lake Mary Trail to Lake Catherine and beyond, poking around Alta Ski Area.
Meike 85mm f1.8 Prime Portrait lens. $85 from www.ebay.com/str/robertscamera
When the Canon equivalent is $250 Used on eBay and $400 new vs $150 new for this lens which was still too much for me... :(
Tried the Sigma macro 105mm F2.8 EX DG on my Canon 1000D at photofair 2010, Mumbai and I found the lens difficult to operate. To click a photo in AF mode, first, I had to manually focus the subject and then change the settings to AF mode. This was a little bit strange.
This is to stop congestion in the very tight stairwells, one up and one down.
While I was taking this an Afrikaans man told his kid while walking past that only white people could make something as beautiful as this monument, If I didn't have my camera in my hands I would have given him a klap (smack) to the back of his head - Racist Asshole.
A LensCap Rally at the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria. The LensCap Rally is a day out with a Professional Photographer. There are set tasks and afterwards you can upload your photos to the site and have everyone comment on them. Its a great way to get out for the day, shoot loads of pics at interesting locations and meet other photo-mad people.
I think I took a picture with my lenscap on, but cause of the film it still is neato.
Film is Revolog's Volvox.
[Sigma 17-70mm's new Lens Cap]
I'd been wanting to try to make tiny deviled eggs for ages and I finally gave it a try.
Look at how cute they are! I overcooked them a bit, but I think that they were an overall success
I bought a new lens with my tax return (Canon 60mm f/2.8 Macro)! I'm gonna have a lot of fun with this thing. For now, here's the obligatory lens cap shot.
Canon Digital Rebel with the standard kit lens zoomed to 55mm then holding an old Canon FD 50mm 1:1.8 lens reversed in front of it.
I was playing with dof whilst the wife was watching Eastenders.
Cropped to a rule of 3rds in square again nothing great but interesting to me.
One of my first loves. An early "inheritance" from my mom.
She travelled the world with her, capturing hidden treasures, vast landscapes and my childhood. Accompanied her on adventures as she tested herself against what nature had to offer, in moments of wonder and tenderness. Occasionally forgotten when in a rush, on the rooftops of cars only to be remembered a few miles later, that she was travelling aloft; high on the hood, gazing at landscapes, itching to capture the moments.
Then when in my possession, forgotten for a while: in contrast to the moments when I use to sneak off with her, protectively hidden, so that I could capture the sky or the flowers upon our dining room table. And, finally dug out to be used again.
She is occasionally replaced, but remains to this day my favourite.
A couple weeks earlier, VV and I were foiled on our quest for a breakfast burrito. VV later went to this place without me (SAD) and told me it was amazing.
I finally got the chance to get my own Qwik Korner breakfast burrito. It's freaking huge.
ok it's aftermarket, but it's a "Canon" centre-grip style (ala Nikon) lens cap - makes things so much easier with the lens hood on
