Big shout out to Velvet for helping out ♥
one of those little treasures one stumbles across when discovering a new city :) I just loved its design which lends a sense of three-dimensionality to it.
Summer's morning time near the Schwarzsee. Zermatt.Canton of Valais, Switzerland. No. 9393.
Schwarzsee (literally "Black Lake") is a lake at Zermatt in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. It is located below Matterhorn at an elevation of 2,552 m.
Matterhorn from Schwarzee Paradise
Its surface area is 0.5 ha. A chapel dedicated to Mary of the Snows borders the lake (Kapelle "Maria zum Schnee").
Gornergrat from Schwarzee Paradise
The lake lends its name to the mountain ridge (2,583 m) above (45°59′29″N 7°42′35″E). It can be reached by cable car from Zermatt.

long exposureI would like to invite you to follow me on my fb page www.facebook.com/Malgorzata-Kapustka-Photography-21349378...
this silly hand, which is flexible, belonged to my mom... I found it in a desk drawer and it called out to me... the perfect image for Macro Monday - Keychain...
I miss my mom so much... she is always with me.
1/23/1914 - 10/16/2003
She was so talented and an amazing seamstress... made all my clothes growing up and many bridal gowns and their wedding party... she could do just about anything.... and thankfully, I took after her... except for the sewing garments... but I've made a ton of quilts!

Shooting warblers as much as I do has the occasional benefit of a decent flight shot. The bird has to be departing at a good angle and the shutter speed has to be quick. I generally shoot aperture priority and vary my ISO to get the shutter speed range I want. I really have a lot more to learn about camera settings, and how to use them. With a dark bird like this I am normally also increasing exposure compensation. This is a bird that would likely lend itself well to using bracketing as getting the exposure right for the blacks of this bird is challenging, at least for me.
Surrounded by former work companions, an old barn lends what little strength it has left to support those that remain. Older folks who meet for the first time have an instant rapport as the last decades of life ring the same bell for everyone.
National Library Week ended yesterday, so I'm a bit late. But better late than yada, yada, yada. Libraries are so important and do much more than lend books. I support our library year-round and hope you do too. And librarians are the best!!
I saw this fantastic sign at the Salmon, Idaho library when we were there a couple years ago.
When you trek through the jungle of Khao Sok National Park, in Surat Thani, Thailand, you are often in semi-darkness amongst overhanging foliage. It's a welcome sight to see the occasional glimpse of blue sky lending a lightening to the trees.
Yellow Warbler 25 miles from shore! Took a rest on the boat, and on this guy's hand. Press L to see the image full-screen!
well, im back... for regular programming, at least for the next few weeks.... here's a processed image from the archives i think appropriate for today... or tomorrow as we wait for the results...
it's november 4 here in asia and in the us november 4 is only hours away. the countdown to who will win the us presidential race is upon us! it will be the election of elections. the whole world is watching and may the best man win... for the sake of the world economy and troops from all over the world...

A bridge to replace the Lendal ferry service, was first suggested in 1838 The ferry had operated from Barker Tower, on the south-west bank, to Lendal Tower.
in 1860 and the foundation stone of the original bridge, designed by William Dredge, was laid. Then disaster struck. In 1861 the original bridge collapsed during construction, killing five men. The architect Thomas Page, who also designed Skeldergate Bridge in York and Westminster Bridge in London was brought in. The bridge was redesigned and finally opened in 1863.
Lendal Bridge is an iron bridge with details in the Gothic style popular in Victorian England. The ornate parapet of the bridge features the white rose of York, the crossed keys of the Diocese of York and the lions of England. Additional ironwork includes York’s coat of arms and the initials V & A, representing Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
I had a wonderful days photographic tuition around the sites of York with Chris Ceaser www.chrisceaser.co.uk/
