Centre for Peace and Justice (CPJ) of BRAC University has organised a series of ‘Women Entrepreneurship Training’ for female students of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) as a part of ‘Empowered Women, Peaceful Communities’ project with support from UN Women, Bangladesh. A total of 150 female students from various departments of JKKNIU will get this training on entrepreneurship skills under this project. I wanted to get into some water photos - I know they have been done before, but they look like fun, so I wanted to try them. I learned that 1/3200 isn't fast enough (sun / no flash) to get the drops sharp, so next time I need to do some flash set-up and some fixed location drip set-up rather than dripping by hand. AAAhhh, learning by doing.

This is the same camping trip as the previous photo, but about 35 miles away at a different area in the Cave Hills north of Buffalo, SD.
The thing I remember most from this trip was how my Dad was impressed and complimented me on how I could set up camp and make everything work well. He wanted to take the credit for teaching it to me, and I didn't argue...the fact was that I learned most of it on my own and some of it in the Air Force survival schools I attended, reading the Fox Fire series books, Louis L'Amour western fiction books, and simply just learning by doing it for myself.
But, I was glad that we got to go together and just have fun.
One thing I didn't like about this trip was something I did by instinct to impress my dad and get his approval of me. I killed a chipmunk. We were walking along some cliffs and I heard a rustle in the leaves about 20 feet away and drew my pistol, turned and fired, and blew away the little guy. My dad was very impressed with my split second action and accuracy and, at the time, I was very happy just for having his approval. But, even then, I knew it was a wrong thing to do and felt guilty, just as I do now writing about it.
I don't like that I did that to make myself feel good about myself in my Dad's eyes. I am sorry for it and will never do it again.

I called my friend Yuuichirou on the first day of the year to travel to Schlachstensee, located to the south of Berlin to photograph some "winter landscape scenes". We met last year at the art market near Tiergarten and since then have become friends.
I enjoy meeting photographers and also learning from them. I find sometimes many photographers are tremendous egomaniacs or sometimes loners who find they have a special gift or "artistic vision". Obviously this is not the case with me or Yuuichirou.
My point is like many professions or people in general, they can be difficult and not open to sharing ideas and knowledge. However, I must admit besides practical "Learning by Doing" knowledge obtained for my photography I owe most of my knowledge to other photographers.
Of course, I ask lots of questions and sometimes get good answers.
The photo is formated in 16:9 "HD" size because it is shot during a "mock" interview with Yuuichirou using the Canon Powershot SX1 IS.

I m a little bit shy judging my own work.
My bio, hm, is a short one, I' ve told you.
I have not been enjoying any kinds of artistic education, it is all learning by doing and trial and error. I have had only a few local exhibitions, too. So there is nothing much too say, I fear.
And last but not least (maybe the most important issue and difficult to answer, because for an artist sometimes it is pretty impossible to say smart things about the subtext of his work.
Aggression, maybe it is simple, firstly, as i am German. That speaks for itself.
I am (like every serious German artist of the last decades, conscious or unconscious) a product of aggression, historically.
If the picture fits : we are standing on the shoulders of murderers who where the sons of geniuses and great spirits.
And: the Germans are simply incapable of making a revolution.
Don't let anyone tell you the '89 political change in Eastern Germany was a revolution. It was fake. The freedom they got was the freedom of capitalism, the freedom of being unemployed and poor. A lot of Aggression here is coming of those fatal promises.
Obviously this is to see in a few of my paintings, i don't know. But this could be the context to the exhibition's theme.

Experiments are a great way of learning by doing. The students of Noble High were shown an audio visual to make them understand the cause of volcano eruption. There was a spark in their eyes to learn more and they tried their hands-on the experiment as they prepared a functional volcano model. They were thrilled to prepare it by themselves. They prepared the earth's crust with the help of plaster of paris and observed the lava slowly oozing out of the volcano which excited them that was actually the colorful soda that they used to create the molten lava. Such laboratory experiments promote a student’s ability to collaborate effectively with team members in carrying out complex tasks, to share the work, to contribute and respond to ideas. Their expressions while seeing the completed project, were worth capturing that portrayed the power of small wins.

I met Edith on her 91st birthday, as she sprinted by me at the Zoo. Okay, only one of those statements is partially true.
I was leaving the Zoo when I saw Edith and her niece, Cindy, walking ahead of me.

About 100 Strangers: The One Hundred Strangers project is a learning group for people who want to improve the social and technical skills needed for taking portraits of strangers and telling their stories. The method is learning by doing.
The challenge: Take 100 photographs of at least 100 people you don't know. Approach a person or group of people and ask for permission to both take a photo of them and to post it to this group. Get to know your subjects. Take their pictures. Tell their stories.
Our bush camps get kids out of the classroom and into the wild where they can use their senses and get close to nature.

HAF conducts community meetings in Al Haouz provice with locally elected women identified with support of community leaders. The purpose of these meetings is to train women on how to be leaders in their community for a project sponsored by the National Endowment for Democracy. In this regard, HAF is working through NED program to empower locally elected women and build their facilitation and management skills of participatory development processes through HAF’s learning by doing approach.

In the age of globalization, the meaning of education has changed completely. It is no more about gaining knowledge from piles of books but it is more about “Learning By Doing”.
We in Explore international School have realized this concept by integrating Art and Craft based works, project based works in our daily routine.
Art and Craft is also considered as an extracurricular activity through which our students can express their imagination and creativity.
We conducted an “Art and Craft” competition in our school to give them full freedom to give wings to their imagination. We have specified two themes for that: - one was “nature Conservation” and the other was “Parents’ Day”
They have put their best efforts to make various paintings and craft items. They enjoyed the competition as it made them free from regular classroom work for one day.

In the age of globalization, the meaning of education has changed completely. It is no more about gaining knowledge from piles of books but it is more about “Learning By Doing”.
We in Explore international School have realized this concept by integrating Art and Craft based works, project based works in our daily routine.
Art and Craft is also considered as an extracurricular activity through which our students can express their imagination and creativity.
We conducted an “Art and Craft” competition in our school to give them full freedom to give wings to their imagination. We have specified two themes for that: - one was “nature Conservation” and the other was “Parents’ Day”
They have put their best efforts to make various paintings and craft items. They enjoyed the competition as it made them free from regular classroom work for one day.
