There was a great turn out of education stakeholders from accross industry & education at our Learning Edge Conference. Attendees heard a range of interesting presentations and panels.
This conference was part of the HR Leadership Group Programme 2015 which is kindly sponsored by Aviva Health.
Shiver me timbers! Kids at the Avondale Regional Branch Library's Tot Time – Pirates Rock! train to be pirates by learning to row a boat, crossing a crocodile pit, singing pirate shangies, and walking the plank! All passed with flying colors!
Teaching fellows with South Carolina Afterschool Leaders Empowered (SCALE) visited Henderson Hopkins Elementary Middle School in Baltimore City to observe Summer Arts for Learning Academy (SALA). Additionally, after a tour of SALA, they had the opportunity to speak with graduates of the Bloomberg Arts Internship to learn about their experiences in the program and how they continue to be involved.

Yr 3 learnt how to forage in the wild, trying to find the rice-crispies & sheddies that WildlifeKate hid. This was part of of the history topic, learning about Stone Age people and their lives.
The University Community attended an open house to celebrate the new Learning Commons located on the first floor of the Robert L. Carothers Library and Learning Commons. The open house was to introduce students, faculty and staff to the new area that boasts a full suite of resources.

Children are having a ROCKING great time at Tot Time – Bugs Rock at the Avondale Regional Branch Library. They're learning about bugs, making mosquito headbands, painting plaster of paris bugs, and observing real bugs in jars: snails, roly-polies, millipedes, earthworms, and crickets!
Had my Nan round to teach me, Don't think I'm doing too bad so far. Knitting a Square to start off with.
