Golden-headed Cisticola (Cisticola exilis) juvenile

This time last year there was a number of juvenile Cisticolas around the Sneydes Rd. Paddock.

Exposure, is there a right one? I often utilize my histograms and the theory of ETTR. (Expose To The Right) However, that does not always render the most ideal image, even when manipulated in post. This shot was slightly underexposed and shot in RAW. The result better reveals the suns rays than the one with the right histogram. Perhaps it is best to keep on learning,

The mother lion (Pantera leo) brought her cubs back to the watering hole that she had visited earlier in the day. The little ones will hopefully learn how to be successful lions from her. Londolozi Game Reserve, Sabi Sands, South Africa. Conservation status: Vulnerable

A flight of fancy on a wind swept field

Standing alone my senses reeled

A fatal attraction is holding me fast

How can I escape this irresistible grasp?

I have so many images of Cisticolas in this pose, this youngster was learning the pose well.

Learning as I go, playing with b&w. It's a lot harder than I thought it would be. I love the streaks of sun at the top of the wall.

Rigging is divided into two classes, standing, which supports the mast (and bowsprit), and running, which controls the orientation of the sails and their degree of reefing. Configurations differ for each type of rigging, between fore-and-aft rigged vessels and square-rigged vessels.

by my dear friends Janny and Debbie to shoot with my Velvet 56 wide open, something I never do... I'm more comfortable with f4.... I'm always amazed at their beautiful dreamy work....

learning to embrace the blur!!

We came across this juvenile Black-Crowned Night-Heron while visiting Circle B Bar Reserve near, Lakeland, Florida. As an adult he will reach 25 inches (64 cm) from beak-tip to tail-tip and here he is already quite large as he waits patiently.

With new each image I will mention one of my very favorite Flicker photographers. These are not in any order except for chronologically - how could one possibly rank such different artists?

First you need a run in the water, then you need to break away from it and pick up your feet.

First week or so they are a little clumsy ...doesn't take them long to fly like the F-22 Raptor !
