For the second time in February, volunteers gathered at Emerson Point Preserve in Palmetto, FL. Together they worked to "Give a Day" and "Get a Disney Day." 36 volunteers participated in the program, helping to remove exotic invasive sansevieria plant (mother-in-law's tongue) from the conservation property.
Since January 1, 2010, Manatee County's Natural Resources Department has hosted a total of 7 "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" volunteer workdays. More are planned for March, so please check the Disney website if you would like to participate. We also have regular volunteer opportunities and a dynamic team of helpers who help support and care for the preserves. Join our team today!
