what matters to me: my home

our keyboard, currently residing in my office/game room/computer room/rec room/music room/book room/dumping grounds. the worst looking room in the house that i spend the absolute most time in. why is that?

This keyboard sits in the corner, patiently waiting for us to pick back up the "Keyboard for Dummies" book, remember what the heck the colored stickers mean, and start playing some serious melodies!

While I do love my collectable beads, I treasure family most, and this is our youngest (and smallest) grandchild to date, RieLynn Jayde

She managed to con us out of some of our Pandora/Troll/Biagi/Misc beads, and used Daddy's iTouch cover tas a tray to count them.

Proudly enough, she now counts like the Count on Sesame St. thanks to Memma & Nico counting along with her in the car...ah, ah, aahhhh!!!!

The girls are learning about batteries. In this activity, we've set up a circuit with a light bulb, battery, and switch. When the paper clip touches both of the metal brads on the paper, the light will go on. When the paper clip doesn't touch one of the brads, the light bulb goes off.

Raheny Library has just participated in a new project called 'Learning Through Football', in which children’s literacy and numeracy skills are improved through a football skills-based programme. 'Learning Through Football', a project initiated by Minister Aodhan O Riordain, was delivered in partnership with the FAI and local schools in early May 2015.

Our photo shows Chloe Kearney and Eve Keogh, both from Saint Eithne's School in Edenmore, who came joint first for their scrapbooks which contain their comic book designs (they learned some skills to compose their designs at the workshop in Raheny Library with Alan Nolan) and also facts and photos of their favourite footballers (using books borrowed from the library).

Well done to Chloe and Eve!

Learning Networks Workshop in action

One of the Common Raven youngsters flew in and tried to land on the snag. A little clumsy but he eventually did it. I took about fifty pictures. It was hard to cut down to these "few" :)

Young Eagle learning to fly. I have been watching this eagle for months this is the first time I have even seen it out of the nest.

This is one of the three baby robins that nested above the entrance to our garage. I have had my eye on these birds for a while, waiting for the right moment to photograph them. This fella jumped from the nest when I walked near, so I rushed to get my camera and took a few shots of his first attempts at flight.

This young cowboy is learning to rope steers using bailing twine and he is quite good already.
