After a walk in the surroundings of the summerhouse..to the town of Fugslev.....we had some coffee and layer cake.....inside the layer cake was raspberry and cream and on top of it was whipped cream and chocolatepieces.....very tasty

Layer Marney Tower was mostly built during the reign of King Henry VIII; it was begun in 1518 by Henry, 1st Baron Marney, the king's Lord Privy Seal but never completed. Since his death in 1523, it has been owned by no fewer than eleven different families; the current owners (since 1961) are the Charrington family. Its red brick gatehouse, seen in this photograph, is the tallest of its period in the UK (it reaches a height of 25 metres).

Natural light defused from the side. Desaturated a layer, increased the contrast to bring out the beard, flattened.
Looks quite different from the original and I was pleased with the skin tone and texture. (Paul not quite so).
I would like to work on skin tones in the future, either to soften and enhance, or to make more gritty and B&W. I also like some HDR portraits I have seen.

im experimenting with layering my photographs. the base layer is my wide angle capture, and the overlay is a textrure from the same scene. In this case the texture was the very rock (wet and covered in lichen) i was standing on when taking the wide angle image.

As far as sinful cakes go, this was a fairly simple one to make. It involved baking up two layers of a buttery pound-type cake, making some butterscotch from scratch, and whipping up some frosting, which has a little butterscotch mixed in. (If you were in a pinch and really wanted to cheat time, you could probably use store-bought caramel instead.) You then drizzle the remaining butterscotch over the top.
I could have tried to make a far more artistic drizzle, though. Nigella said to, quote, "Think Jackson Pollock." My version, however, looks as though it's more along the lines of primary school drizzle-paints.
