A quick layering of two photos taken from different ends of the shopping mall from slightly different levels. Editing with Snapseed and layering/compliation with Union apps in iOS.
Ferris Wheel and hot dogs...nothing says State Fair better. Other than maybe cotton candy. Or candy apples. Or roller coasters. Or onion rings. Or million other silly rides and ridiculously unhealthy foods. What's not to like?!!

The final pick of pics from my lovely walk on Wednesday - I have in my diary a floating date to walk the ridge in the distance - part of the South Downs Way that runs from Eastbourne to Winchester. Perhaps I should organise to do the whole of the 100 mile trail over a period of time... Thinking cap on :)
I planned to take a shot of the river showing a meandering shoreline for the Thematorium contest theme 'utilizing lines'. Ended up watching a river otter play on the icy edge for several minutes. Then became fascinated with the lines in the layers of ice.
Love the layers on the landscape from the lookout at Mount Alexander, did some exploring over the weekend, series of photos from the old quarries on the way once I get around to editing them.

Shot with an Empire Baby camera, which is a 127-format, half-frame, plastic-bodied camera made in the 1950s that sold for about 60 cents back then. (I bought it on eBay for about $35.) Efke 100 (127 film), the only b&w film still produced in this format. Home-developed with HC-110 in a Paterson universal tank. Overlapping double exposure made by holding the camera vertically, shooting the top of the scene, advancing the film less than the full amount, then shooting the bottomhalf of the scene. The instructions on the box suggest having a subject that is 5 to 15 feet away, but this subject was about 100 yards away, which may account for some of the lack of sharpness. The dark squares superimposed at the top are on the paper backing and burned through due to light from the red view window.

From a colleague we got a "pre-enjoyed" relax chair for the new house. It used to be his mother's and it was custom-built for her. It's more than a month before we're moving, so the cats have made it their very own relax chair. Padded with a soft quilt to keep off the worst hair, Poeka sees no reason to complain about the chair. Oh well, there's one thing: she would like the flash to stop.
Love the layers all around you as you visit Sunrise on Mt. Rainier. The flowers are out and the layers were blue.
We go through a lot a day. Happiness, sadness, fear, anger, love, hatred, joy, depression and the list is never ending. Sometimes it make us sick at heart. All of this changes our personality and our life too. Some moments of life place such an impact on our life that the pain remain there, always to come back later and this is the deepest layer of the soul affected. A layer which never recovers...............
The tropical-almond or Indian-almond (Terminalia catappa) provides dense shade, but light still manages to filter through canopy layers.

Did you know that they used to print Bible pages on onion vellum? They did. A group of eremite monks deep in the Black Forest developed the texts, and those who gazed upon them during their meditations believed that they were so wholly taken in by the Bible -- rapt upon reading, fresh with tears, sobbing, sniffing. The reality was, hey, onions smell. The pages of these stinky Bibles made them cry. Even reading one of the weirder books, like Deuteronomy, well, that just made them blubber all the more.
