This might be my favorite winter photo yet. This is a single exposure taken at sunset in the Central Cascades near Snoqualmie Pass, WA.
The layering in the mountains and the dappled light really drew me to this particular area. Hope you enjoy it!
The sunsets in Costa Rica were just lovely - especially when seen from the bar at Monteverde Inn, sipping cocktails, listening to birdsong. What looks like sky at the top of the shot is actually the body of water between the mainland and the Nicoya Peninsula.

The Grand Canyon National Park
The South Rim of the Canyon is on the left with the late afternoon sun lighting the North Rim. A glimpse of the Colorado River can be seen in the center of the photo.
I like the varied light in this photo and how is enhances the layers of the canyon and provides some sense of depth.
The magnificent Grand Canyon National Park is located in northern Arizona and was formed over millions of years by the Colorado River. The canyon is more than 200 miles long 12 miles wide and a mile deep. The national park is visited by about 5 million people a year.

Waterfall in Jokkerdalen, in the municipality Sunndal, Norway. In the distance you can see mt.Trolla
Another in the test series of "macroscapes"taken at Badgerup Lake. Im still working on capturing these miniature landscapes that are found in the macro world. These are stacked shots taken on rotting logs at Badgerup Lake.
They are worth zooming in on to see the detail. You can see lichens, liverworts, mosses and other objects at this level.
Let's continue my Icelandic series with a shot of Fjallsjökull on a cold windy morning from the edge of the Fjallsárlón ice lagoon.

Many millions of years ago when this sandstone was laid
down in a shallow sea, something changed for a period of time giving this very distinct red layer both a different color and a hardness that has caused it to weather quite differently from the white layer.
I love how nature repeats its forms in many different scales causing the scale in this photo to be quite ambiguous. (A clue: the boulder in the left center is about 18")
