Layered images with a few extra dots for good measure. Just a bit of fun. I hope you'll enjoy the journey through this image too.
The background is a wall at the back of the Dowse Gallery covered in reflective stickering. My silhouette is reflected along with an intriguing exhibition and lovely light leaks. Wrinkles in the stickers a reminder of the glitches in the matrix.

"The three lava flows visible from this point are from the southwest rift of Mauna Loa. The darker or younger lava flow surrounding this point is from the 1907 eruption and the lighter colored lava down slope is believed to be 750-1,500 years old. The dark flow east of this location is from an 1887 eruption. These three flows are all the 'a'a (rough or clinker) and not pahoehoe (smooth or ropy) lava. The older lava flows are lighter in color and generally have larger 'ohi'a lehua trees.
If you look closely you will find few 'ohi'a lehua trees growing in the 1907 flow"
This room is part of a suite right near the main entrance of Fort Adams. The trim and plasterwork probably looked pretty good when it was new, but I’m scratching my head about the faded pink. I saw it in other areas, too, and it doesn't seem like the right color for a military fort.
Originating in the West Indies, Mexico, and Central and South America, the flower is known botanically as Eustoma grandiflorum.
The common name comes from the Greek words lysis, meaning 'dissolution' and anthos, meaning 'flower'.
Colours include white, light and dark pink, lavender and deep purple. Double and single-flower varieties exist.
Many people do not know what it is, but everyone loves it!
For years I 'experimented' in the studio, to get that Flemish painter's light? Well, I was born in Flanders, it must be in my blood? LOL.

While we were in Lassen Volcanic National Park, smoke from a nearby fire settled into the valleys adding an interesting layering to the landscape.

Lovely light cutting through the mist revealing the layers between grasses, reeds and hedging in front of a misty mill copse.
Layered liquors in Danish shot glass. Specific gravity of three liquors used: grenadine - 1.18, limoncello - 1.06, spiced rum - 0.95. Final taste - well that's another matter.
This is a standard bubbles water and olive oil shot pov is looking down the side of a square glass dish. 1”x1” section. This all started innocently enough. A macro image of liquid for Macro Mondays. Started off with water blue food coloring. Then a few drop of olive oil. Then some violet food coloring.Then some Prell shampoo. Then like a mad scientist I started tossing in liquids of different viscosity. A spritz of alcohol here and there. “ Oh, I wonder how this will react with that?” So my apologies in advance for a photo dumping of “ what am I looking at here” photos. Yes the heat has gotten to me…

Sometimes it doesn't matter how hard you try or how optimistic you are, some days are just going to be rough. So rough that you wonder how you will ever come out on the other side, happy and content.
There is hope. There will be better days ahead. Would you like to know how I know? It's quite simple really; you make the choice to pull yourself up, claw your way through, and remind yourself that it is up to you and you alone to embrace the layers of who you are, the layers of who you are yet to be. It is up to you to find the love within yourself and let that guide you on your way.
Life does not have to be awful, it does not have to be trying, but it will be. Certainly not every day, certainly not every week, but it's a guarantee that life will not be easy. The best way I know to counter that certainty is to remember who I am, who I've become, and the life in my layers.
