Going for layering, From the sunrise to the bridge, the truck & headlights to the light posts the reflection in the side of the car, the mirror and the words written on it and then the sign posts and motion of the freeway in the foreground.

I felt so incredibly fortunate to have the seasons collide when we were in the Wasatch mountains of Utah in October. All it takes is just one mountain snowfall to create a fairyland of beauty. Everywhere I looked was a photo opportunity. Here is just one of those moments.
Layers of water, blurred by time.
Looking from Flinders Blowhole towards Round island and the Nobbies on Phillip Island.
As daylight fades, the mountains of Damaraland dissolve into successive layers of shadow, dust and warm desert light. For a few moments, the landscape seems endless.
Layers of green slowly fade into a blue haze – obviously, a warm, sunny spring day. Finally!
Taken with an ancient Konica Minolta Dynax 7D digital camera and even older Minolta AF Zoom 35–105mm F3.5–4.5 lens. Cropped to cinematic aspect ratio.
Layers Of Light
Some glorious light on our trip along Glen Cannich last week. This is one using the 70-200mm lens shooting into the light to capture this beautiful scene with different layers, colours and trees in this image.

We witnessed some of the most stunning fog layers on the Central Coast over Christmas break - great sheets of moisture draping the land and hillsides, glowing white with sideways sunlight in the morning. Here, at that bend in the road when entering Cayucos from the north.
Committed to Ferrania P30 using a Leica M6 and 50 mm Summicron V3 lens. Developed using Ars-Imago FD as per the Massive Dev chart and scanned with an Epson V850 using Silverfast. Positive conversion and contrast done with Negative Lab Pro.
Lake District, Cumbria, en route to the mountain of Blencathra.
There are times when zoom & crop are called for, and abstract landscape photography is often one of them.

HMM 🌞
I went out very early on the morning that this photo was taken. It was a fall day in southern Yukon, October 25th, 2021. The sky had been clear of cloud all night and temperatures had fallen to about minus seven or eight. I knew this would probably cause a fog or mist to rise off the waters of the Yukon River and Schwatka Lake. As it turned out, I was right, and the morning was a real beauty. This photo was taken later in the morning as the fog was dissipating to reveal some details on the water and in the surrounding forest. Looking across Schwatka Lake, I caught this scene, as the top of Grey Mountain was appearing out fo the cloud.
Happy first day of Summer! The summer months can be a difficult time to photograph the coast due to the presence of marine layers that can totally cloud things in. After a couple mornings of getting nothing for light, we noticed the marine layer breaking further to the south of us. We hurried there and were rewarded with beautiful shifting clouds and fog! Have a great weekend!
This is my first image of the most epic misty sunrise amongst the Dartmoor heathers.
I arrived before sunrise in fog and mist which was dissipating by the second as I hiked up the hill to the viewpoint. I was lucky to get my camera out of the bag quickly on the way up to catch this low layer of mist before it cleared.
It may have been clear in front of me but the cloud inversion in the valley below was incredible with the most awesome ever-changing sky.
