One of those rare outings for my long lens... I often think this lens is a passenger, I hardly ever use it, and when I do, I dont always get great results... it's almost been on ebay about 20 times, and then every once in a while, I get a shot that makes me change my mind.
This shot is taken on the North Antrim coast looking west, and the detail the lens has picked out in the distance is really gobsmacking... I cant show the 60meg original here, but I have included a close up in the comments, and you can see the carrick-a-rede rope bridge spanning the rocky outcrops...
I'm not slating the lens, its probably user error that my hit rate is not better.

Such an awesome display of cloud layering as the sun set's, the explosion of colors bleed through the spectacular layered textured clouds. definitley one of my favorites.

Yesterday morning, I went out to photograph Marienplatz, the main square in the heart of Munich. I was actually on my way to the south — more specifically, to the northern part of Italy, the Dolomites. Since I don't like to drive more than 800 to 900 km a day, I decided to break up the trip with a stop in one of my favorite German cities.
The weather was grey and rainy — not postcard conditions — so I started looking for a more interesting composition.
This scene caught my eye: the modern entrance to the U-Bahn below and the neo-Gothic Neues Rathaus rising above it—a nice contrast between old and new.
Marienplatz has been Munich's central square since 1158. The Neues Rathaus, built in the late 1800s, is one of the city's landmarks, renowned for its intricate façade and the Glockenspiel, which continues to draw a crowd every day.
Even without sunshine or people, the square has a special kind of atmosphere. Maybe even more so when it's quiet.
Fine blades of leaves by the pond and rings of bokeh of highlights on the water surface.
Finishing off my test Provia Roll....I got these 100ft long rolls and made 22 rolls of 35 exposures - 35mm. This rolls seems to be alright, but I got to let the labs know that these are E6 process because I have been using old film cannisters.

Layers of ancient sandstone form the walls of Kings Canyon, the big picture makes an impressive sight, but with this shot I want to capture a section of the sandstone walls in detail. break of a small piece, sub it between your fingers and it dissolves into fine soft red powder.
The Siskiyou Mountains encompass some of the most complex soils, geology, landscape, and plant communities in the Pacific Northwest. This is a country of narrow canyons and high, steep ridges. Elevations range from near sea level at the coast, to 7,533 ft (2235 m).
Someone with a sense of humor must have placed a few "coastal route" signs along the way just to make sure we were paying attention.
The thirteenth day of our May Road Trip took us through this remote and rugged area as we moved inland for the last few days of the journey.
