The latest topic at our local photography club meeting was light painting. I had never before attempted any light painting shots, and neither had almost all the others there, so we were pretty much completely experimenting just to see what we could get.
My friend Randy contacted Michelle (the model that I've shot before) to see if she'd be interested in posing for us, and she was. With this shot, I took the picture while Leanne Hall "painted" the hearts. She used small colored LED lights to draw the hearts in the air, and then Randy Chancellor quickly lit Michelle with my "Z-Ray" flash light. I was shooting very long shutter-speeds in Bulb mode. Michelle was holding very still, and Leanne was moving (and unlike Michelle she never had a light shining on her) which is why she didn't show up in this long-shutter exposure.
I only ended up with a few shots during the meetup because I was having fun doing the light-painting and letting others shoot and borrow my tripod. I can't wait to see some more of the shots they got.
We didn't have a good background, and made plenty of rookie mistakes, so I know we'll be able to do better than this in the future. I'm certainly looking forward to doing more cool things with light painting.

Last night, Tuesday 3 December 2019, saw the attestation ceremony of Greater Manchester Police's latest 21 special constables.

The latest addition to my gravesite volunteering is the 1800psi Simoniz pressure washer. It's a fine machine but the foam canon that came with it does not fit the nozzle bar.
The bar fitting is the standard ¼" fitting but god knows what's on the foam blaster. All I know is it won't fit.
Not to be dismayed, I used my 600psi Ryobi foam canon which does work (fit).
This is where my garden-hose-splitter-connector came in handy: both units are connected at the same time.
The power washing was finished with the Simoniz washer.

Oh my goodness what an amazing day. If I knew 40 was going to be this great I would have done it years ago. Started off with Jon surprising me by taking the day off - this is something he rarely does as his work load is busiest this time of year. Started out with a trip to the tattoo shop where I got my new ink - I have been wanting this design for about three years. Then we headed to St Paul to a quaint lil tea store I have been wanting to check out where I spent way too much money on a loose leaf tea pitcher and tons of new teas. Then Jon took care of dinner for the kids AND took Addison to dance while I napped. Woke up to final present of a new casual watch that will time my workouts and a ton of other features I don't know how to work yet. Woke up today still on a high from yesterday. Life is good.
I made this bag from leather and Emily Bloom fabric, the pattern is adapted from Amy Butler's Frenchy shoulder bag.
