My latest in the dime store dollies project. This was one of those truly ugly Bratz baby rip off dolls. Her head and limbs kept falling off. I remounted the head using elastics around the neck knob to hold it firm, and glued the arms and legs into place using a type of white glue, but much stronger.
She was primed and them hand painted with artists acrylics. I painted her T-shirt and added little "dance pants” striped stockings and Mary-Jane shoes in paint.
I really like the way her eyes turned out this time.

I was craving a big, chunky sweater—and good thing I had a bunch of worsted weight yarn that had been stashed away for a couple of years. This is the Eva tunic pullover from Cecily Glowik MacDonald, one of my favorite pattern designers. Her patterns are always super easy to follow and sophisticated in their simplicity. However, as is true to form, I did not follow the pattern exactly. One, this isn't a tunic. I didn't have enough of the Fossil color yarn to accommodate that. Especially since, two, I wanted to make it with long sleeves. Many of her designs incorporate short sleeves, but for a worsted weight piece, that never seems to make sense to me. I want comfort and warmth if my yarn is fat and fluffy.
This is also my first go at colorwork/stranded knitting. I quite enjoyed the small detailing at the collar.

Latest Streetlighting project - New telegraph pole, or more correctly and more appropriately, electricity pole, standing in place and now fitted with one of the fantastically angular Phosco P223 35w SOX lanterns.
I decided to fit this lantern for a variety of reasons, firstly I like it! The angular design is quite iconic and more interesting than many designs; also I remember these particular lanterns being used in a street round the corner from where I lived years ago and later in another street I lived in there were more of these than any other type. I have two lanterns of this type in the collection and fitted this one outside because the other one is in perfect condition and will be kept that way!
Lastly the Thorn Beta 5 which was fitted previously had integral gear 'in head' and so was rather heavy; this Phosco lantern is remotely geared and lighter and I didn't want too much weight out at the end of the bracket. I fitted the gear in the cutout compartment.

Prior to the wedding, Nick has been receiving immense love from his Indian fans and also reciprocated the same by posting his videos dancing to the tunes of popular Bollywood songs.
Recently, at a movie theatre where Jumanji (an American Comedy Film) was being played on screen, the audience broke into loud cheer when Nick Jonas entered the scene. This clip was shared by his wife Priyanka, she captioned the video, “When @nickjonas enters a room in India. #NationalJiju. Thank you for all the love.”

My latest custom, it's taken weeks in between uni work. By the months end I can get back into painting as much as I like, finally, oh and please ignore the fluff on her blue eye and lips from her fluffy dreds :P
Anyway, she started out as a my scene Delancy and I've fully repainted her in the style of a cyber goth, which I found interesting from an artistic perspective. The blue eyes one of those funky coloured contact lenses. Need to rummage through my doll clothes and find a better pair of pants and perhaps a better belt too. Clothes are my scene though, and the ski goggles are from the Abbey Bominable monster high fashion pack.
Painted using acrylics, and sealed with liquitex and a thin application of MSC (I learnt that lesson the hard way). Rerooted in nylon colours "blueberry" and "black magick" with blue wool faux dreds tied around her ponytail.
Her nasal piercing was tricky. I used a small metal loop like you'd find on jewelery, craft shops sell them as well. There's not much in terms of a septum to work with on my scenes, it's very shallow. I used a needle to make the hole and pliers to close. Had to be careful not to tear the thing out, which would be easy to do. I recommend doing it on one side of the nose, though it did turn out no probs this way, it's just stronger and there's more to work with in terms of securing the ring if you pierce the side of the nose.
Her top lashes are glued on, I usually paint them either way but chose not to for this one, help keep things simpler and cleaner and emphasize the fake lashes, which are black reborn doll lashes, they're sold in strips. I used PVA glue if anyone wants to try it out themselves. I recommend gluing a little section in place first, let it dry, then use a toothpick or small brush to apply the rest.
Next repaint in the works is another my scene, this time a Maddison, the smiling mouth head mold version. She's under way, and will be oh so ridiculously cute.

I told myself I'd be good, and not get interested in anything new, not unless it was at least an interesting antique and at least 10x8 (these are moderately rare). What do you know, but one came up?
This is probably from between 1890 and 1910, really not sure when. Serial number 12790 stamped on the bottom. Mahogany and brass. Bellows are intact and light tight despite a few cosmetic bits that are close to flaking off. No ground glass, but I can fix that. There are a couple of screws missing, and the bottom baseboard has a crack - I can work with this too rather than risk an ugly repair. No lenses - or rather the seller included a lens that is perfect for 5x4 but won't really work for 10x8, but that's OK. The camera came with 3 double dark slides for glass plates by Thornton Pickard which are equally pretty, but it looks like it will take modern holders too. And I have lenses that are suitable, albeit not pretty antique ones.
There are front shifts (rise, fall and sideways) and rear swings as you can see. Should be very usable soon, I hope.
The latest is a small one knitted with noro wool using the technique discussed on my blog. I did a simple picot edge cast off and then added a removable hand embroidered twill band and a vintage button. The plant is a pin cushion plant and the little mushroom bird was part of a set I found in my Christmas stocking.
Anyone looking for them, got Bucky and Falcon for £10 each at ASDA! Basically the Christmas haul, Civil War figures, plus a dusting of odd figures, Xorn and Havok being slight customs by someone other than me.
