Pictures of cargo ships and others at the Port of Los Angeles during Embarkation Day, Monday August 5th, 2024. On board the Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas for a short four night cruise from Los Angeles, California. The cruise leaves Los Angeles with stops at Avalon (Santa Catalina Island) and Ensenada, Mexico (August 5th through August 9th, 2024).
These shoe models were made into a work of art as a dividing screen in one of our many town centre pubs and really took my eye. Lotus made shoes in Stafford and also nearby Rugeley.
I went walking right before dusk near the train tracks in town. This is what I found.

I bought this tomato the day after Christmas. The picture was taken March 1st. The tomato is still hard and there is no sign of decay other than wrinkling of the skin.

My grandmotther, Patsy Stevens, passed away this month and I had the fortunate chance to go see her in the last week of her life. I grabbed this shot from her old bedroom while I was visiting. It is, obviously, baby portraits of her five children, my dad and his siblings. I love you, Mamoo. You will be dearly missed.

I had a hard time this week - I had a million things I WANTED to take pictures of and instead I actually had to get out and shoot for other people. My daughter turned 3 this week as well. Her very first birthday EVER (orphanages don't tend to celebrate birthdays...) so we all tromped out for a quick session of our own before another. Walking back to the car I snapped this of my youngest son helping her walk. She's still a little scared to walk on grass and uneven ground and she stopped and cried until he came back for her. It might not have any technical "wow", but in hindsight I wouldn't trade this snap for all the ideas in my head perfectly executed.
The pigeon... Birds of peace and maybe more christians than everybody! Always... from century... sorrunding the steeples of churches!

I've been coming to Shea since 1974 with my Dad. I had no idea how difficult leaving her would be. Tears flowed freely, peopled lingered and snapped photos, I'm sure some looted but I didn't see... LOL!... Strangers hugged and comforted one another... It was one of my proudest, saddest NYC moments!
